Frequently Asked Questions

1

What systems should be treated as exposed?

Any computer where this package is installed or running should be treated as fully compromised. This includes systems that may contain secrets or keys accessible from that computer.

2

What should be done immediately?

Rotate all secrets and keys stored on the affected computer immediately, using a different computer. Remove the package, but do not assume removal alone restores the system to a trustworthy state.

3

Is removing the package sufficient to contain the incident?

No. The available information warns that installation may have given an outside entity full control of the computer, and removing the package does not guarantee that all resulting malicious software is removed.
