UBUNTU-CVE-2026-68107: Low severity ubuntu/linux vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu/vcn4: avoid rereading IB param length Reuse the parameter length returned by vcnv40encfindibparam() instead of rereading it from the IB. This avoids a potential TOCTOU issue if the IB contents change between reads. (cherry picked from commit dbb02b4755f8c1f3773263f2d779872c1c0c073a)

Frequently Asked Questions
Which systems are exposed to this issue?
The issue affects the listed Ubuntu kernel packages, including the standard, FIPS, AWS, Azure, and GCP kernel variants. The affected code is in the AMDGPU VCN4 driver path.
What access does an attacker need to exploit it?
The vector is local, and the severity vector indicates low privileges are required. No user interaction is required.
What is the impact if exploitation succeeds?
The provided severity information indicates low impact to integrity and availability, with no confidentiality impact. It also indicates no impact on subsequent systems.
What change resolves the issue?
The resolution reuses the parameter length returned by vcn_v4_0_enc_find_ib_param() rather than reading the length from the instruction buffer again, preventing a potential time-of-check to time-of-use race if the buffer changes between reads.
