UBUNTU-CVE-2026-68207: Low severity ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: ti: vpe: unwind v4l2 device registration on probe error If the vpetop resource is missing, vpeprobe() returns -ENODEV after v4l2deviceregister() has succeeded. Probe failures do not call the driver's remove callback, so the v4l2 device remains registered on that error path. Route that failure through the existing v4l2deviceunregister() unwind label, matching the other errors after v4l2deviceregister().

Frequently Asked Questions
When can this issue be triggered?
It is triggered during VPE driver probing when the vpe_top resource is missing, after v4l2 device registration has already succeeded. The probe then returns -ENODEV without unregistering the V4L2 device.
What is the impact of the failed probe path?
The V4L2 device can remain registered even though driver probing failed. The issue is limited to that probe-error cleanup path.
Which Ubuntu kernel packages are listed as affected?
The listed packages are ubuntu/linux, ubuntu/linux-realtime, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-gcp, ubuntu/linux-azure-fde, ubuntu/linux-gke, ubuntu/linux-riscv, and ubuntu/linux-gkeop.
