UBUNTU-CVE-2026-68325: Medium severity ubuntu/linux-azure vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/amd: Bound the early ACPI HID map The ivrsacpihid command-line parser appends entries to a fixed four-element earlyacpihidmap array. Unlike the sibling IOAPIC and HPET parsers, it does not reject a fifth entry before incrementing the map size. Check the capacity at the common found label before parsing the HID and UID or writing the entry.

Frequently Asked Questions
What systems are exposed to this issue?
Systems running the listed Ubuntu Linux kernel packages are exposed when the AMD IOMMU code processes the ivrs_acpihid kernel command-line option. The affected package list includes ubuntu/linux and the listed Azure, AWS FIPS, GCP, Oracle, and FIPS kernel variants.
What is required to trigger the vulnerable code path?
An attacker or administrator must be able to supply kernel command-line parameters containing more than four ivrs_acpihid entries. The flaw occurs because a fifth entry can be appended to a fixed four-element early_acpihid_map array without a capacity check.
How can I determine whether a system may be affected at boot?
Inspect the kernel command line for use of the ivrs_acpihid parameter and count its entries. A configuration supplying five or more entries reaches the missing bounds-check condition described in the advisory.
