UBUNTU-CVE-2026-68413: Medium severity ubuntu/linux vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ipw2100: fix potential memory leak in ipw2100pciinitone() The memory allocated in the ipw2100allocdevice() function is not freed in some of the error paths in ipw2100pciinitone(). Fix that by converting the direct return into a goto to the error path return. The error path when pcienabledevice() fails cannot jump to fail, since at this point priv is not set, so perform error handling inline.

In Linux kernel driver wifi: ipw2100, convert the direct return in ipw2100_pci_init_one() into a goto to the error-path return, while handling the pci_enable_device() failure inline because priv is not yet set.

Frequently Asked Questions
When can this memory leak be triggered?
It can occur when ipw2100_pci_init_one() encounters certain initialization error paths after ipw2100_alloc_device() has allocated memory. The pci_enable_device() failure path is handled separately because the private device state is not yet set at that point.
Which Ubuntu kernel packages are listed as affected?
The listed packages are ubuntu/linux, ubuntu/linux-fips, ubuntu/linux-aws, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-gcp, ubuntu/linux-aws-fips, ubuntu/linux-azure-fips, and ubuntu/linux-gcp-fips.
