UBUNTU-CVE-2026-68417: High severity ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/siw: publish QP after initialization siwcreateqp() currently calls siwqpadd() before the queues, CQ pointers, state, completion, and device list entry are ready. A QPN lookup can therefore reach a QP that is still being constructed. Move siwqpadd() to the end of siwcreateqp(), after QP initialization and before adding the QP to the siw device list.

In siw_create_qp(), move siw_qp_add() to the end of the function, after QP initialization and before adding the QP to the siw device list, so the QP is published only after its queues, CQ pointers, state, and completion are ready.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which systems are exposed to this issue?
Systems running an affected Ubuntu kernel package listed here are exposed only where the RDMA Software iWARP (siw) driver is in use. The affected package set includes linux, linux-azure, linux-gcp, linux-aws-fips, linux-fips, linux-azure-fips, linux-gcp-fips, and linux-realtime.
What level of access does an attacker need?
The severity vector indicates local access and low privileges are required. No user interaction is required.
What could successful exploitation allow?
Successful exploitation can affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability at a high impact level. The flaw allows a QPN lookup to access an siw queue pair before its initialization is complete.
