UBUNTU-CVE-2026-74263: Null Pointer Dereference
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: wwan: t7xx: check skbclone in control TX t7xxportctrltx() clones each skb fragment before passing it to the port transmit path. The clone is used immediately to set cloned->len, so an skbclone() failure results in a NULL pointer dereference. Check the clone before using it. If previous fragments were already queued, preserve the driver's existing partial-write behavior by returning the number of bytes submitted so far.

In net: wwan: t7xx, check whether skb_clone() returned NULL before dereferencing or using the cloned skb, including before setting cloned->len.
- Compensating control
In t7xx_port_ctrl_tx(), if a clone failure occurs after previous skb fragments were queued, return the number of bytes submitted so far to preserve the driver's existing partial-write behavior.

Frequently Asked Questions
What systems are exposed to this issue?
The affected software list consists of Ubuntu Linux kernel packages for riscv, realtime, azure, gcp, azure-fde, gke, hwe-edge, and gkeop. Exposure requires use of the kernel's t7xx WWAN control transmit path.
What condition triggers the crash?
The failure occurs when skb_clone() fails while t7xx_port_ctrl_tx() is cloning an skb fragment. The driver then dereferences the NULL clone while setting its length, which can crash the kernel.
What happens if cloning fails after some data has already been queued?
The resolved behavior preserves partial-write semantics: if earlier fragments were queued successfully, the operation returns the number of bytes submitted so far rather than treating the whole write as successful.
