UBUNTU-CVE-2026-74265: Medium severity ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mana: initialize gdma queue id to INVALIDQUEUEID managdcreatemanawqcq() leaves queue->id as 0 (from kzallocobj()) until manacreatewqobj() assigns the firmware-returned id. If creation fails before that, cleanup calls managddestroycq() with id 0, NULLing gc->cqtable[0] and silently breaking whichever real CQ owns that slot. Initialize queue->id to INVALIDQUEUEID right after allocation, matching managdcreateeq(). The existing (id >= maxnumcqs) guard then short-circuits cleanly.

In mana_gd_create_mana_wq_cq(), initialize queue->id to INVALID_QUEUE_ID immediately after allocation, matching mana_gd_create_eq(), so the existing id >= max_num_cqs guard prevents cleanup from destroying queue-table slot 0.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Ubuntu kernel packages are identified as affected?
The listed packages are ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-realtime, ubuntu/linux-gcp, ubuntu/linux-azure-fde, ubuntu/linux-gke, ubuntu/linux-riscv, ubuntu/linux-azure-fips, and ubuntu/linux-gkeop.
What condition triggers the faulty cleanup path?
The issue occurs when a MANA work-queue/completion-queue creation attempt fails after allocation but before the firmware-returned queue ID is assigned. The uninitialized ID remains 0, causing cleanup to act on completion-queue table slot 0.
What is the operational impact if the issue is triggered?
Cleanup can clear the completion-queue table entry for a real CQ using slot 0. This silently breaks that CQ rather than cleanly skipping destruction of an invalid queue.
How does the fix prevent the problem?
The fix initializes the queue ID to INVALID_QUEUE_ID immediately after allocation. The existing ID-range validation then prevents cleanup from destroying a CQ when creation did not assign a valid firmware ID.
