UBUNTU-CVE-2026-74279: Critical severity ubuntu/linux-azure vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: cavium/cpt - fix DMA cleanup using wrong loop index The sgcleanup error path used list[i] instead of list[j] when unmapping DMA buffers, leaking successfully mapped entries and repeatedly unmapping the failed one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Ubuntu kernel package variants are listed as affected?
The listed packages are ubuntu/linux, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-aws-fips, ubuntu/linux-azure-fips, ubuntu/linux-fips, ubuntu/linux-gcp-fips, ubuntu/linux-gcp, and ubuntu/linux-oracle.
What access does the supplied severity vector indicate an attacker needs?
The vector indicates network reachability, low attack complexity, no required privileges, and no user interaction. It also rates confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact as high, with scope changed.
What failure condition triggers the faulty cleanup behavior?
It occurs in the sg_cleanup error path after DMA buffer mapping fails. The cleanup uses list[i] instead of list[j], causing successfully mapped entries to remain mapped while the failed entry is repeatedly unmapped.
