UBUNTU-CVE-2026-80565: High severity ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: qce - fix error path in devmqceregisteralgs If ops->registeralgs() fails, the error path repeatedly calls the same ops->unregisteralgs() from the failed registration. Use the loop index to unregister the previously registered algorithms instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
What level of access would an attacker need to exploit this issue?
The vulnerability has local attack vector and low privileges required. No user interaction is required.
Which Ubuntu kernel packages are identified as affected?
The listed packages are ubuntu/linux, ubuntu/linux-aws, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-azure-fde, ubuntu/linux-gcp, ubuntu/linux-gke, ubuntu/linux-ibm, and ubuntu/linux-realtime.
When does the vulnerable error path occur?
It occurs when an algorithm registration operation fails in the QCE crypto driver. The flawed cleanup repeatedly unregisters the same failed registration instead of unregistering algorithms that were registered earlier.
