UBUNTU-CVE-2026-80667: Medium severity ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: LAG, MPESW, Fix missing complete() on devcom error mlx5mpeswwork() returned without calling complete() when mlx5laggetdevcomcomp() returned NULL. A caller that queued the work and waited on mpesww->comp would block indefinitely. Funnel the early-return path through a new "complete" label so the waiter is always woken.

Frequently Asked Questions
What condition triggers the indefinite block?
The block occurs when mlx5_mpesw_work() is queued and a caller waits on mpesww->comp, but mlx5_lag_get_devcom_comp() returns NULL. In that error path, the work previously returned without signaling completion.
What is the operational impact?
A waiting caller can block indefinitely, resulting in an availability impact. The supplied severity vector indicates local access, low attack complexity, high privileges required, and no user interaction.
Which Ubuntu kernel packages are listed as affected?
The listed packages are linux-riscv, linux-realtime, linux-azure, linux-gcp, linux-azure-fde, linux-gke, linux-hwe-edge, and linux-gkeop.
How does the fix prevent the hang?
The fix routes the early error return through a completion path that calls complete(). This ensures the caller waiting on mpesww->comp is woken even when the devcom completion lookup fails.
