UBUNTU-CVE-2026-80826: Use After Free
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: c67x00: fix use-after-free in c67x00addisourb() When TD creation fails for the last packet of an isochronous URB, c67x00addisourb() gives the URB back before updating the endpoint scheduling state. c67x00givebackurb() frees the URB private data, and the completion callback may release the final URB reference. The following accesses to urbp->epdata, urb->interval, and urbp->cnt can therefore use freed memory. Update nextframe and cnt before giving back the failed final packet, making the giveback the last operation that uses the URB and its private data.

In c67x00_add_iso_urb(), update next_frame and cnt before giving back a failed final packet, and make c67x00_giveback_urb() the last operation that accesses the URB or its private data.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Ubuntu kernel package families are listed as affected?
The listed package families are ubuntu/linux, ubuntu/linux-fips, ubuntu/linux-aws, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-aws-fips, ubuntu/linux-azure-fips, ubuntu/linux-gcp, and ubuntu/linux-gcp-fips.
What condition leads to the unsafe memory access?
The issue occurs when transfer-descriptor creation fails for the final packet of an isochronous URB in c67x00_add_iso_urb(). The URB can be returned and its private data freed before endpoint scheduling state is updated.
Are fixed package versions or temporary mitigations provided?
No fixed package versions, update status, or temporary mitigations are included in the provided data. The referenced resolution changes the ordering so next_frame and cnt are updated before the failed URB is given back.
