UBUNTU-CVE-2026-90007: High severity ubuntu/linux-azure vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: pm8001: Use rollback index when freeing MSI-X vectors pm8001requestmsix() unwinds previously registered handlers with freeirq() when requestirq() fails. The rollback loop uses the failing index i for every iteration instead of the already registered vector index j. That passes the wrong IRQ/devid pair to freeirq() and leaves the earlier handlers installed. Use j for both pciirqvector() and the matching irqvector entry in the rollback loop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Ubuntu kernel package families are in scope?
The affected software list includes ubuntu/linux, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-aws-fips, ubuntu/linux-azure-fips, ubuntu/linux-fips, ubuntu/linux-gcp-fips, ubuntu/linux-gcp, and ubuntu/linux-oracle.
Does exploitation require remote access or user interaction?
The CVSS vector indicates local access is required, low privileges are required, and no user interaction is required. It does not describe a remote network attack path.
What is the potential security impact?
The reported CVSS vector rates confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact as high. The issue concerns incorrect cleanup of previously registered MSI-X interrupt handlers after an IRQ registration failure.
