UBUNTU-CVE-2026-90362: Medium severity ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dsi: Drop devpmoppsetrate(0) devpmoppsetrate(0) removes the vote specified in required-opps but does not actually park the clock, making it run without the necessary power backing. Drop the explicit call to it. Every call site of ops->linkclkdisable() is followed by pmruntimeput(), so the power vote will be rescinded if deemed safe. Drop the explicit call to dev_pm_opp_set_rate(0); rely on the existing pm_runtime_put() after each ops->link_clk_disable() call to rescind the power vote when safe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Ubuntu kernel packages are listed as affected?
The listed packages are ubuntu/linux-realtime, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-gcp, ubuntu/linux-azure-fde, ubuntu/linux-gke, ubuntu/linux-riscv, ubuntu/linux-gkeop, and ubuntu/linux.
What condition causes the unsafe clock state?
Calling dev_pm_opp_set_rate(0) removes the power vote specified in required-opps without actually parking the clock. The clock can therefore continue running without the necessary power backing.
What is the remediation described by the resolved change?
The explicit dev_pm_opp_set_rate(0) call is removed. Calls to ops->link_clk_disable() are followed by pm_runtime_put(), which rescinds the power vote when it is safe to do so.
