UBUNTU-CVE-2026-92476: Medium severity ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: keembay - Initialize completion before requesting IRQ kmbocsaesprobe() requests the device IRQ before initializing irqcompletion. Once the handler is registered it can run immediately, and ocsaesirqhandler() unconditionally calls complete(). An interrupt in this window would therefore use an uninitialized completion. Initialize the completion before requesting the IRQ, as the sibling OCS HCU and ECC drivers already do.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Ubuntu kernel packages are identified as affected?
The affected software list includes ubuntu/linux, ubuntu/linux-realtime, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-gcp, ubuntu/linux-azure-fde, ubuntu/linux-gke, ubuntu/linux-riscv, and ubuntu/linux-gkeop.
What condition is required for the unsafe state to occur?
The device IRQ must run after it is requested but before irq_completion is initialized. In that window, the AES interrupt handler calls complete() on an uninitialized completion object.
