UBUNTU-CVE-2026-92523: Medium severity ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/nldev: validate dynamic counter attribute length RDMANLDEVATTRSTATHWCOUNTERS is a nested attribute whose children are consumed directly with nlagetu32(). The top-level policy validates only the container, so it does not establish the fixed shape of each child. Require every child payload to be exactly one u32 before reading it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Ubuntu kernel package families are identified?
The affected software list includes ubuntu/linux-riscv, ubuntu/linux-realtime, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-gcp, ubuntu/linux-azure-fde, ubuntu/linux-gke, ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge, and ubuntu/linux-gkeop.
Is validating the top-level hardware-counter attribute container sufficient?
No. The nested child attributes must each have a payload exactly the size of one u32 before they are read with nla_get_u32().
