UBUNTU-CVE-2026-93110: Medium severity ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/core: Wait for RCU callbacks before unloading ibcore putgidndev() is queued with callrcu() and implemented in ibcore. Stopping the workqueues does not drain callbacks already queued, so RCU could invoke it after the module code has been unloaded. synchronizercu() does not wait for callbacks. Wait for them after all producers have stopped.

After all producers have stopped, explicitly wait for queued RCU callbacks to drain before unloading ib_core; do not rely on synchronize_rcu(), which does not wait for callbacks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Ubuntu kernel variants are listed as affected?
The listed packages are ubuntu/linux, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-gcp, ubuntu/linux-aws-fips, ubuntu/linux-azure-fips, ubuntu/linux-fips, ubuntu/linux-gcp-fips, and ubuntu/linux-realtime.
What condition leads to the unsafe callback execution?
The condition occurs when an RCU callback for put_gid_ndev() has already been queued and ib_core is unloaded before that callback runs. Stopping workqueues does not drain queued RCU callbacks, and synchronize_rcu() does not wait for callback completion.
What does the resolution need to ensure?
The fix must wait for queued RCU callbacks after all callback producers have stopped and before ib_core module code is unloaded.
