UBUNTU-CVE-2026-93141: Double Free
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: r8a66597: avoid double free of ep0req in probe error path If usbaddgadgetudc() fails, r8a66597probe() jumps to erraddudc and frees ep0req, then falls through to cleanup2 where ep0req is freed again when it is non-NULL. Remove the redundant free from erraddudc and keep the cleanup in cleanup2 so the request is released exactly once. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool and confirmed by code review.

Frequently Asked Questions
What condition is required to trigger the double free?
The failure path is reached when usb_add_gadget_udc() fails during r8a66597_probe(). The provided information does not specify what would cause that registration call to fail or whether an attacker can induce it.
Which Ubuntu kernel packages are listed as affected?
The listed software includes ubuntu/linux, ubuntu/linux-aws, ubuntu/linux-azure, ubuntu/linux-gcp, ubuntu/linux-fips, ubuntu/linux-aws-fips, ubuntu/linux-azure-fips, and ubuntu/linux-gcp-fips.
How was this issue addressed?
The redundant ep0_req free in the err_add_udc error path was removed. Cleanup remains in clean_up2, ensuring the request is released only once.
