UBUNTU-CVE-2026-98356: Medium severity ubuntu/linux-hwe-edge vulnerability
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/bnxtre: check createsinglethreadworkqueue() in DCB setup bnxtreinitdcbwq() ignores a failed allocation. The async DCB handler later calls queuework() on the NULL pointer.

In bnxt_re_init_dcb_wq(), check whether create_singlethread_workqueue() returns NULL and prevent the asynchronous DCB handler from calling queue_work() on the NULL pointer.

Frequently Asked Questions
What conditions are required for the NULL-pointer use to occur?
The bnxt_re RDMA driver's DCB setup must fail to allocate its single-thread workqueue. If the asynchronous DCB handler subsequently runs, it can call queue_work() with that NULL workqueue pointer.
