ZDI-18-963: Trend Micro Maximum Security ID_AMSP_MASTER Out-Of-Bounds Read Privilege Escalation Vulnerability

This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on vulnerable installations of Trend Micro Maximum Security. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the processing of request ID 0x2002 for IDAMSPMASTER in the service process coreServiceShell.exe. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a memory access past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code under the context of SYSTEM.
