ZDI-20-616: Advantech WebAccess/SCADA BwWebSvc IOCTL 0x00013c77 Heap-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Advantech WebAccess/SCADA. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the processing of IOCTL 0x00013c77 in BwWebSvc.dll. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can trigger an overflow of a fixed-length heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of Administrator.
