This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Foxit PDF Reader. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The ZDI has assigned a CVSS rating of 7.8. The following CVEs are assigned: CVE-2026-57254.

  1. Compensating control

    Because user interaction is required to exploit this issue (victim must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file), restrict or warn users about opening unknown PDFs/links and block access to untrusted content at the network/email gateway where possible.

  2. Compensating control

    Mitigate exposure to remote code execution by restricting access to Foxit PDF Reader execution on untrusted endpoints/users until the vendor fix is applied.
