ZDI-CAN-28469: ZDI-26-158: (Pwn2Own) Philips Hue Bridge HomeKit hk_hap_pair_storage_put Heap-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
This vulnerability allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Philips Hue Bridge. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the hkhappairstorageput function of the HomeKit implementation, which listens on TCP port 8080 by default. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the device.
