AVideo through 29.0 (current revision e01e41ecc) contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability. The unauthenticated view-counter endpoint objects/videoAddViewCount.json.php reaches VideoStatistic::save(), which writes the caller's User-Agent (via getUserAgentInfo(), which returns unrecognized agent strings verbatim) directly into the app column of the videosstatistics table without invoking the sanitizing setter setApp(); normalizeApp() only truncates the value to 45 characters. The video owner's and administrator's statistics page (view/videoViewsInfo.php) renders this field in a DataTables 1.12.1 column with an unescaped renderer, and DataTables assigns cell content using innerHTML, so attacker-supplied HTML is parsed and executed in the privileged user's authenticated session when the statistics page is viewed. No patched version was available at the time of the advisory.

WWBN AVideo at commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 and earlier contains an XML injection vulnerability in plugin/ADServer/VMAP.php, which is reachable without authentication when the ADServer plugin is enabled. The script emits Content-Type: application/xml and writes the timeOffset and idTag values returned by ADServer::getVMAPSFromRequest() directly into VMAP attributes without encoding. Those values originate from the base64- and JSON-decoded $REQUEST['vmaps'] parameter, which is not covered by $securityFilter in objects/security.php. A remote attacker can craft a vmaps value (containing a non-empty VAST.campaing entry) and induce a user to open the resulting VMAP URL or a video page using it, injecting arbitrary <vmap:AdBreak> and <vmap:AdTagURI>/AdSource nodes into the generated XML. The player's IMA path (afterVideoJS -> PlayerSkins::setIMAADTag) then requests the attacker-supplied ad URLs, resulting in ad injection and cross-origin requests from the victim's playback session. The issue was unfixed at the time of reporting.

AVideo through commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 contains an open redirect in objects/playlistSort.php. Because the endpoint is not a .json.php script, AVideo's automatic CSRF guard (autoCSRFGuard()/forbidIfIsUntrustedRequest()) does not run, and when the request includes the sort parameter the script issues a Location header set to the unvalidated $SERVER['HTTPREFERER'] value without calling isSafeRedirectURL(). A remote unauthenticated attacker can therefore induce a logged-in user who can manage the targeted playlist to submit a cross-origin POST with a crafted Referer, causing the victim's playlist to be reordered and the victim's browser to be redirected from a trusted AVideo URL to an attacker-controlled site for phishing. AVideo is a video-sharing Platform. Versions prior to 8.0 contain a Server-Side Request Forgery vulnerability (CWE-918) in the public thumbnail endpoints getImage.php and getImageMP4.php. Both endpoints accept a base64Url GET parameter, base64-decode it, and pass the resulting URL to ffmpeg as an input source without any authentication requirement. The prior validation only checked that the URL was syntactically valid (FILTERVALIDATEURL) and started with http(s)://. This is insufficient: an attacker can supply URLs such as http://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/ (AWS/cloud instance metadata), http://192.168.x.x/, or http://127.0.0.1/ to make the server reach internal network resources. The response is not directly returned (blind), but timing differences and error logs can be used to infer results. The issue has been fixed in version 8.0.

AVideo is a video-sharing Platform. Versions prior to 8.0 contain a SQL Injection vulnerability in the getSqlFromPost() method of Object.php. The $POST['sort'] array keys are used directly as SQL column identifiers inside an ORDER BY clause. Although realescapestring() was applied, it only escapes string-context characters (quotes, null bytes) and provides no protection for SQL identifiers — making it entirely ineffective here. This issue has been fixed in version 8.0. To workaround this issue without upgrading, operators can apply a WAF rule to block POST requests where any sort[] key contains characters outside [A-Za-z0-9]. Alternatively, restrict access to the queue view (queue.json.php, index.php) to trusted IP ranges only.
