A flaw was found in OpenSSL. The crehash script does not properly sanitize shell meta-characters to prevent command injection. Some operating systems distribute this script in a manner where it is automatically executed. This flaw allows an attacker to execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of the script on these operating systems.
A flaw was found in xstream. A remote attacker may be able to load and execute arbitrary code from a remote host only by manipulating the processed input stream. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability.
A flaw was found in openssl. A miscalculation of a buffer size was found in openssl's SM2 decryption function, allowing up to 62 arbitrary bytes to be written outside of the buffer. A remote attacker could use this flaw to crash an application supporting SM2 signature or encryption algorithm, or, possibly, execute arbitrary code with the permissions of the user running that application. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability.

Double-free vulnerability in the FTP-kerberos code in cURL 7.52.0 to 7.65.3.
cURL libcurl is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the tftpreceivepacket function. By sending specially-crafted request containing an OACK without the BLKSIZE option, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.

Due to the formatting logic of the "console.table()" function it was not safe to allow user controlled input to be passed to the "properties" parameter while simultaneously passing a plain object with at least one property as the first parameter, which could be "proto". The prototype pollution has very limited control, in that it only allows an empty string to be assigned to numerical keys of the object prototype.Node.js >= 12.22.9, >= 14.18.3, >= 16.13.2, and >= 17.3.1 use a null protoype for the object these properties are being assigned to.
A use-after-free flaw was found in the way curl handled TLS session data. The curl versions using the OpenSSL library as their TLS backend could use freed memory after TLS session renegotiation was performed by the OpenSSL library. A malicious TLS server could use this flaw to crash or, possibly, execute arbitrary code with the privileges of a client application using the curl library.

A heap buffer overflow in the TFTP receiving code allows for DoS or arbitrary code execution in libcurl versions 7.19.4 through 7.64.1.
Vulnerability in the MySQL Server product of Oracle MySQL (component: Server: Thread Pooling). Supported versions that are affected are 8.0.39 and prior, 8.4.2 and prior and 9.0.1 and prior. A flaw was found in curl. This flaw lies in the --ssl-reqd option or related settings in libcurl. Users specify this flag to upgrade to TLS when communicating with either IMAP, POP3 or a FTP server. An attacker controlling such servers could return a crafted response which could lead to curl client continue its operation without TLS encryption leading to data being transmitted in clear text over the network. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality.

Calls to EVPCipherUpdate, EVPEncryptUpdate and EVPDecryptUpdate may overflow the output length argument in some cases where the input length is close to the maximum permissable length for an integer on the platform. In such cases the return value from the function call will be 1 (indicating success), but the output length value will be negative. This could cause applications to behave incorrectly or crash. OpenSSL versions 1.1.1i and below are affected by this issue. Users of these versions should upgrade to OpenSSL 1.1.1j. OpenSSL versions 1.0.2x and below are affected by this issue. However OpenSSL 1.0.2 is out of support and no longer receiving public updates. Premium support customers of OpenSSL 1.0.2 should upgrade to 1.0.2y. Other users should upgrade to 1.1.1j. Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.1j (Affected 1.1.1-1.1.1i). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.0.2y (Affected 1.0.2-1.0.2x).
A flaw was found in krb5. MIT Kerberos 5 allows unbounded recursion via an ASN.1-encoded Kerberos message because the lib/krb5/asn.1/asn1encode.c support for BER indefinite lengths lacks a recursion limit.
libcurl-using applications can ask for a specific client certificate to be used in a transfer. This is done with the CURLOPTSSLCERT option (--cert with the command line tool). When libcurl is built to use the macOS native TLS library Secure Transport, an application can ask for the client certificate by name or with a file name - using the same option. If the name exists as a file, it will be used instead of by name.If the appliction runs with a current working directory that is writable by other users (like /tmp), a malicious user can create a file name with the same name as the app wants to use by name, and thereby trick the application to use the file based cert instead of the one referred to by name making libcurl send the wrong client certificate in the TLS connection handshake.
ASN.1 strings are represented internally within OpenSSL as an ASN1STRING structure which contains a buffer holding the string data and a field holding the buffer length. This contrasts with normal C strings which are repesented as a buffer for the string data which is terminated with a NUL (0) byte. Although not a strict requirement, ASN.1 strings that are parsed using OpenSSL's own "d2i" functions (and other similar parsing functions) as well as any string whose value has been set with the ASN1STRINGset() function will additionally NUL terminate the byte array in the ASN1STRING structure. However, it is possible for applications to directly construct valid ASN1STRING structures which do not NUL terminate the byte array by directly setting the "data" and "length" fields in the ASN1STRING array. This can also happen by using the ASN1STRINGset0() function. Numerous OpenSSL functions that print ASN.1 data have been found to assume that the ASN1STRING byte array will be NUL terminated, even though this is not guaranteed for strings that have been directly constructed. Where an application requests an ASN.1 structure to be printed, and where that ASN.1 structure contains ASN1STRINGs that have been directly constructed by the application without NUL terminating the "data" field, then a read buffer overrun can occur. The same thing can also occur during name constraints processing of certificates (for example if a certificate has been directly constructed by the application instead of loading it via the OpenSSL parsing functions, and the certificate contains non NUL terminated ASN1STRING structures). It can also occur in the X509get1email(), X509REQget1email() and X509get1ocsp() functions. If a malicious actor can cause an application to directly construct an ASN1STRING and then process it through one of the affected OpenSSL functions then this issue could be hit. This might result in a crash (causing a Denial of Service attack). It could also result in the disclosure of private memory contents (such as private keys, or sensitive plaintext). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.1j (Affected 1.1.1-1.1.1k). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.0.2za (Affected 1.0.2-1.0.2y).
It was found that node.js did not safely read the x509 certificate generalName format properly, resulting in data injection. A certificate could use a specially crafted extension in order to be successfully validated, permitting an attacker to impersonate a trusted host.
A flaw was found in node.js where it accepted a certificate's Subject Alternative Names (SAN) entry, as opposed to what is specified by the HTTPS protocol. This flaw allows an active person-in-the-middle to forge a certificate and impersonate a trusted host.
A flaw was found in node.js, where it did not properly handle multi-value Relative Distinguished Names. This flaw allows a specially crafted x509 certificate to produce a false multi-value Relative Distinguished Name and to inject arbitrary data in node.js libraries.
OpenSSL could allow a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions, caused by a a missing check in the validation logic of X.509 certificate chains by the X509VFLAGX509STRICT flag. By using any valid certificate or certificate chain to sign a specially crafted certificate, an attacker could bypass the check that non-CA certificates must not be able to issue other certificates and override the default purpose.
