CVE-2020-26982: Siemens JT2Go CG4 and CGM File Parsing Out-Of-Bounds Write Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

A vulnerability has been identified in JT2Go (All versions < V13.1.0), Teamcenter Visualization (All versions < V13.1.0). Affected applications lack proper validation of user-supplied data when parsing CG4 and CGM files. This could result in an out of bounds write past the end of an allocated structure. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. (ZDI-CAN-11898)

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Siemens JT2Go. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of CG4 and CGM files. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process.
