ZDI-CAN-8029: Microsoft Windows Media Player Color Transform Out-Of-Bounds Read Information Disclosure Vulnerability

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Windows Media Player. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of AVI files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute code in the context of the current process.
