An earlier fix for an Inter-process Communication (IPC) vulnerability, CVE-2011-3079, added authentication to communication between IPC endpoints and server parents during IPC process creation. This authentication is insufficient for channels created after the IPC process is started, leading to the authentication not being correctly applied to later channels. This could allow for a sandbox escape through IPC channels due to lack of message validation in the listener process.

A flaw was found in modperl 2.0 through 2.0.10 which allows attackers to execute arbitrary Perl code by placing it in a user-owned .htaccess file, because (contrary to the documentation) there is no configuration option that permits Perl code for the administrator's control of HTTP request processing without also permitting unprivileged users to run Perl code in the context of the user account that runs Apache HTTP Server processes.

Use After Free
CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H

A use after free vulnerability was found in the kernels socket recvmsg subsystem. This may allows remote attackers to corrupt memory and may allow execution of arbitrary code. This corruption takes place during the error handling routines within sysrecvmmsg() function.

To attack the kernel using this method the system must be running application using the UDP recvmmsg syscall().

It was found that libcurl might accidentally leak authentication data to third parties.

When asked to send custom headers in its HTTP requests, libcurl will send that set of headers first to the host in the initial URL but also, if asked to follow redirects and a 30X HTTP response code is returned, to the host mentioned in URL in the Location: response header value.

Sending the same set of headers to subsequest hosts is in particular a problem for applications that pass on custom Authorization: headers, as this header often contains privacy sensitive information or data that could allow others to impersonate the libcurl-using client's request.

This bug has existed since before curl 6.0.

Apache Tomcat contains an unspecified vulnerability that allows for remote code execution if JmxRemoteLifecycleListener is used and an attacker can reach Java Management Extension (JMX) ports. This CVE exists because this listener wasn't updated for consistency with the Oracle patched issues for CVE-2016-3427 which affected credential types.

It was discovered that the RMI (Java Remote Method Invocation) server implementation in the JMX (Java Management Extensions) component of OpenJDK did not restrict which classes can be deserialized when deserializing authentication credentials. A remote unauthenticated attacker able to connect to a JMX port could possibly use this flaw trigger deserialization flaws.

Improper input validation together with an integer overflow in the EAP-TLS protocol implementation in PPPD may cause a crash, information disclosure, or authentication bypass. This implementation is distributed as a patch for PPPD 0.91, and includes the affected eap.c and eap-tls.c files. Configurations that use the refuse-app option are unaffected.

curl before version 7.61.1 is vulnerable to a buffer overrun in the NTLM authentication code. The internal function Curlntlmcoremknthash multiplies the length of the password by two (SUM) to figure out how large temporary storage area to allocate from the heap. The length value is then subsequently used to iterate over the password and generate output into the allocated storage buffer. On systems with a 32 bit sizet, the math to calculate SUM triggers an integer overflow when the password length exceeds 2GB (2^31 bytes). This integer overflow usually causes a very small buffer to actually get allocated instead of the intended very huge one, making the use of that buffer end up in a heap buffer overflow. (This bug is almost identical to CVE-2017-8816.)

In Apache httpd 2.2.0 to 2.4.29, when generating an HTTP Digest authentication challenge, the nonce sent to prevent reply attacks was not correctly generated using a pseudo-random seed. In a cluster of servers using a common Digest authentication configuration, HTTP requests could be replayed across servers by an attacker without detection.
