When BIG-IP 14.0.0-14.1.0.1, 13.0.0-13.1.1.4, 12.1.0-12.1.4, 11.6.1-11.6.3.4, and 11.5.2-11.5.8 are processing certain rare data sequences occurring in PPTP VPN traffic, the BIG-IP system may execute incorrect logic. The TMM may restart and produce a core file as a result of this condition. The BIG-IP system provisioned with the CGNAT module and configured with a virtual server using a PPTP profile is exposed to this vulnerability.
In BIG-IP 11.5.1-11.5.8 and 11.6.1-11.6.3, the Configuration Utility login page may not follow best security practices when handling a malicious request.
In BIG-IP 11.5.1-11.5.8, 11.6.1-11.6.3, 12.1.0-12.1.3, and 13.0.0-13.0.1, malformed TCP packets sent to a self IP address or a FastL4 virtual server may cause an interruption of service. The control plane is not exposed to this issue. This issue impacts the data plane virtual servers and self IPs.
In BIG-IP 13.0.0-13.1.1.1, 12.1.0-12.1.3.7, 11.6.1-11.6.3.2, or 11.5.1-11.5.8 or Enterprise Manager 3.1.1, when authenticated administrative users run commands in the Traffic Management User Interface (TMUI), also referred to as the BIG-IP Configuration utility, restrictions on allowed commands may not be enforced.
In F5 BIG-IP LTM, AAM, AFM, Analytics, APM, ASM, DNS, Edge Gateway, GTM, Link Controller, PEM, WebAccelerator and WebSafe software version 13.0.0, 12.0.0 - 12.1.2, 11.6.0 - 11.6.1 and 11.5.0 - 11.5.4, in some circumstances, Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) does not properly handle certain malformed TLS1.2 records, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) or possible remote command execution on the BIG-IP system.
On F5 BIG-IP 16.1.x versions prior to 16.1.2.2, 15.1.x versions prior to 15.1.5.1, 14.1.x versions prior to 14.1.4.6, 13.1.x versions prior to 13.1.5, and all versions of 12.1.x and 11.6.x, when an Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (ICAP) profile is configured on a virtual server, undisclosed traffic can cause an increase in Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) memory resource utilization. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated
On F5 BIG-IP 13.0.0, 12.0.0-12.1.3.1, 11.6.0-11.6.2, 11.4.1-11.5.5, or 11.2.1, malformed SPDY or HTTP/2 requests may result in a disruption of service to TMM. Data plane is only exposed when a SPDY or HTTP/2 profile is attached to a virtual server. There is no control plane exposure.
In F5 BIG-IP LTM, AAM, AFM, Analytics, APM, ASM, DNS, GTM, Link Controller, PEM and Websafe software version 12.0.0 to 12.1.1, 11.6.0 to 11.6.1, 11.5.0 - 11.5.4, virtual servers with a configuration using the HTTP Explicit Proxy functionality and/or SOCKS profile are vulnerable to an unauthenticated, remote attack that allows modification of BIG-IP system configuration, extraction of sensitive system files, and/or possible remote command execution on the BIG-IP system.
Under some circumstances on BIG-IP 12.0.0-12.1.0, 11.6.0-11.6.1, or 11.4.0-11.5.4 HF1, the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) may not properly clean-up pool member network connections when using SPDY or HTTP/2 virtual server profiles.
On F5 BIG-IP 16.1.x versions prior to 16.1.2.2, 15.1.x versions prior to 15.1.5.1, 14.1.x versions prior to 14.1.4.6, 13.1.x versions prior to 13.1.5, and all versions of 12.1.x and 11.6.x, a flaw in the way reply ICMP packets are limited in the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) allows an attacker to quickly scan open UDP ports. This flaw allows an off-path remote attacker to effectively bypass source port UDP randomization. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated
Responses to SOCKS proxy requests made through F5 BIG-IP version 13.0.0, 12.0.0-12.1.3.1, 11.6.1-11.6.2, or 11.5.1-11.5.5 may cause a disruption of services provided by TMM. The data plane is impacted and exposed only when a SOCKS proxy profile is attached to a Virtual Server. The control plane is not impacted by this vulnerability.
On F5 BIG-IP APM 16.1.x versions prior to 16.1.2.2, 15.1.x versions prior to 15.1.5.1, 14.1.x versions prior to 14.1.4.6, 13.1.x versions prior to 13.1.5, and all versions of 12.1.x and 11.6.x, as well as F5 BIG-IP APM Clients 7.x versions prior to 7.2.1.5, the BIG-IP Edge Client Component Installer Service does not use best practice while saving temporary files. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated
On F5 BIG-IP 15.1.x versions prior to 15.1.0.2, 14.1.x versions prior to 14.1.4.6, 13.1.x versions prior to 13.1.5, and all versions of 12.1.x and 11.6.x, when a DNS listener is configured on a virtual server with DNS queueing (default), undisclosed requests can cause an increase in memory resource utilization. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.
In F5 BIG-IP LTM, AAM, AFM, Analytics, APM, ASM, DNS, GTM, Link Controller, PEM and Websafe software version 13.0.0, 12.0.0 to 12.1.2, 11.6.0 to 11.6.1 and 11.5.0 - 11.5.4, an undisclosed sequence of packets sent to BIG-IP High Availability state mirror listeners (primary and/or secondary IP) may cause TMM to restart.
On F5 BIG-IP APM 16.1.x versions prior to 16.1.2.2, 15.1.x versions prior to 15.1.5.1, 14.1.x versions prior to 14.1.4.6, 13.1.x versions prior to 13.1.5, and all versions of 12.1.x and 11.6.x, as well as F5 BIG-IP APM Clients 7.x versions prior to 7.2.1.5, a DLL Hijacking vulnerability exists in the BIG-IP Edge Client Windows Installer. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated
In F5 BIG-IP APM software versions 11.5.0, 11.5.1, 11.5.2, 11.5.3, 11.5.4, 11.6.0, 11.6.1, 12.0.0, 12.1.0, 12.1.1 and 12.1.2 BIG-IP APM portal access requests do not return the intended resources in some cases. This may allow access to internal BIG-IP APM resources, however the application resources and backend servers are unaffected.
In F5 BIG-IP 11.2.1, 11.4.0 through 11.6.1, and 12.0.0 through 12.1.2, an unauthenticated user with access to the control plane may be able to delete arbitrary files through an undisclosed mechanism.
The Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) in F5 BIG-IP before 11.5.4 HF3, 11.6.x before 11.6.1 HF2 and 12.x before 12.1.2 does not properly handle minimum path MTU options for IPv6, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) through unspecified vectors.
An attacker may be able to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) attack against the sshd component in F5 BIG-IP, Enterprise Manager, BIG-IQ, and iWorkflow.
On BIG-IP 14.0.0-14.1.0.1, 13.0.0-13.1.1.4, 12.1.0-12.1.4, 11.6.1-11.6.3.4, and 11.5.2-11.5.8, DNS query TCP connections that are aborted before receiving a response from a DNS cache may cause TMM to restart.
On BIG-IP 14.1.0-14.1.0.5, 14.0.0-14.0.0.4, 13.0.0-13.1.1.4, 12.1.0-12.1.4.1, 11.6.1-11.6.3.4, and 11.5.2-11.5.8 and BIG-IQ 7.0.0-7.1.0.2, 6.0.0-6.1.0, and 5.1.0-5.4.0, an undisclosed iControl REST worker is vulnerable to command injection by an admin/resource admin user. This issue impacts both iControl REST and tmsh implementations.
On BIG-IP 14.0.0-14.1.0.1, 13.0.0-13.1.1.4, 12.1.0-12.1.4, 11.6.1-11.6.3.4, and 11.5.2-11.5.8, administrative users with TMSH access can overwrite critical system files on BIG-IP which can result in bypass of whitelist / blacklist restrictions enforced by appliance mode.
On versions 15.1.0-15.1.0.5, 14.1.0-14.1.3, 13.1.0-13.1.3.5, 12.1.0-12.1.5.2, and 11.6.1-11.6.5.2, when a BIG-IP APM virtual server processes traffic of an undisclosed nature, the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) stops responding and restarts.
On versions 15.1.0-15.1.0.5, 14.1.0-14.1.2.3, 13.1.0-13.1.3.4, 12.1.0-12.1.5.1, and 11.6.1-11.6.5.1, when a BIG-IP system that has a virtual server configured with an HTTP compression profile processes compressed HTTP message payloads that require deflation, a Slowloris-style attack can trigger an out-of-memory condition on the BIG-IP system.
In BIG-IP versions 15.1.0-15.1.0.4, 15.0.0-15.0.1.3, 14.1.0-14.1.2.3, 13.1.0-13.1.3.3, 12.1.0-12.1.5.1, and 11.6.1-11.6.5.1, the restjavad process's dump command does not follow current best coding practices and may overwrite arbitrary files.
On versions 7.1.5-7.1.9, the BIG-IP Edge Client's Windows Installer Service's temporary folder has weak file and folder permissions.
In BIG-IP 15.0.0-15.1.0.4, 14.1.0-14.1.2.7, 13.1.0-13.1.3.3, 12.1.0-12.1.5.2, and 11.6.1-11.6.5.2 and BIG-IQ 5.2.0-7.1.0, unauthenticated attackers can cause disruption of service via undisclosed methods.
On BIG-IP 15.0.0-15.0.1.3, 14.1.0-14.1.2.3, 13.1.0-13.1.3.3, 12.1.0-12.1.5, and 11.6.1-11.6.5.1, under certain conditions, the Intel QuickAssist Technology (QAT) cryptography driver may produce a Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) core file.
On BIG-IP 15.0.0-15.1.0.1, 14.1.0-14.1.2.3, 13.1.0-13.1.3.3, 12.1.0-12.1.5.1, and 11.6.1-11.6.5.1, malformed input to the DATAGRAM::tcp iRules command within a FLOWINIT event may lead to a denial of service.
On BIG-IP 15.1.0-15.1.0.5, 14.1.0-14.1.2.3, 13.1.0-13.1.3.4, 12.1.0-12.1.5.2, and 11.6.1-11.6.5.2, Virtual servers with a OneConnect profile may incorrectly handle WebSockets related HTTP response headers, causing TMM to restart.
