Downstream version 1.0.46-1 of pure-ftpd as shipped in Fedora was vulnerable to packaging error due to which the original configuration was ignored after update and service started running with default configuration. This has security implications because of overriding security-related configuration. This issue doesn't affect upstream version of pure-ftpd.
A buffer overrun can be triggered in X.509 certificate verification, specifically in name constraint checking. Note that this occurs after certificate chain signature verification and requires either a CA to have signed the malicious certificate or for the application to continue certificate verification despite failure to construct a path to a trusted issuer. An attacker can craft a malicious email address to overflow four attacker-controlled bytes on the stack. This buffer overflow could result in a crash (causing a denial of service) or potentially remote code execution.
Many platforms implement stack overflow protections which would mitigate against the risk of remote code execution. The risk may be further mitigated based on stack layout for any given platform/compiler.
Pre-announcements of CVE-2022-3602 described this issue as CRITICAL. Further analysis based on some of the mitigating factors described above have led this to be downgraded to HIGH. Users are still encouraged to upgrade to a new version as soon as possible.
In a TLS client, this can be triggered by connecting to a malicious server. In a TLS server, this can be triggered if the server requests client authentication and a malicious client connects.
An issue was discovered in the asn1decodesimpleber function in decoding.c in GNU Libtasn1 before 4.13. Unlimited recursion in the BER decoder leads to stack exhaustion and DoS.
In Ceph before 12.2.3 and 13.x through 13.0.1, the rgwcivetweb.cc RGWCivetWeb::initenv function in radosgw doesn't handle malformed HTTP headers properly, allowing for denial of service.
A flaw was discovered in ceph. Assertion in rgwiampolicy.cc can be reached by user input and fail through data passed in from a rest call causing it to crash.

A flaw was found in MIT krb5 1.6 or later, an authenticated kadmin user with permission to add principals to an LDAP Kerberos database can cause a null dereference in kadmind, or circumvent a DN container check, by supplying tagged data intended to be internal to the database module.

A flaw was found in MIT krb5 1.6 or later, an authenticated kadmin user with permission to add principals to an LDAP Kerberos database can circumvent a DN containership check by supplying both a "linkdn" and "containerdn" database argument, or by supplying a DN string which is a left extension of a container DN string but is not hierarchically within the container DN.
