Race condition in exec in OpenBSD 4.0 and earlier, NetBSD 1.5.2 and earlier, and FreeBSD 4.4 and earlier allows local users to gain privileges by attaching a debugger to a process before the kernel has determined that the process is setuid or setgid.

FreeBSD 5.x, 4.x, and 3.x allows local users to cause a denial of service by executing a program with a malformed ELF image header.

procfs in FreeBSD and possibly other operating systems allows local users to cause a denial of service by calling mmap on the process' own mem file, which causes the kernel to hang.

procfs on FreeBSD before 4.5 allows local users to cause a denial of service (kernel panic) by removing a file that the fstatfs function refers to.

The cmdline pseudofiles in (1) procfs on FreeBSD 4.8 through 5.3, and (2) linprocfs on FreeBSD 5.x through 5.3, do not properly validate a process argument vector, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (panic) or read portions of kernel memory. Race condition in gzip 1.2.4, 1.3.3, and earlier, when decompressing a gzipped file, allows local users to modify permissions of arbitrary files via a hard link attack on a file while it is being decompressed, whose permissions are changed by gzip after the decompression is complete.

The SIOCGIFCONF ioctl (ifconf function) in FreeBSD 4.x through 4.11 and 5.x through 5.4 does not properly clear a buffer before using it, which allows local users to obtain portions of sensitive kernel memory.
