The GamiPress WordPress plugin before 6.8.9's access control mechanism fails to properly restrict access to its settings, permitting Authors to manipulate requests and extend access to lower privileged users, like Subscribers, despite initial settings prohibiting such access. This vulnerability resembles broken access control, enabling unauthorized users to modify critical GamiPress WordPress plugin before 6.8.9 configurations.

SQL Injection
AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N

The GamiPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authenticated (Subscriber+) SQL Injection via the 'q' parameter of the wpForo integration AJAX selector (action gamipresswpforogetposts) in versions up to, and including, 7.9.7. The value is passed only through $wpdb->esclike() and interpolated directly into a single-quoted LIKE clause with no %s placeholder. Because esclike() runs after WordPress core magic quotes, it doubles the injected backslash (\' -> \\'), which MySQL reads as one literal backslash followed by a live closing quote, allowing the attacker to break out of the string and inject boolean-based SQL. The wpForo plugin only needs to be active to register the callback; no wpForo vulnerability is used. Requires a Subscriber account, which can read the gamipressadmin nonce (exposed on every admin page, e.g. /wp-admin/profile.php). Note: the researcher's Simple:Press vectors (PoC 2 & 3) do not reproduce in current code, which uses $wpdb->prepare() with %s placeholders; only the wpForo selector is confirmed.

XSS
CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N

The GamiPress WordPress plugin before 1.0.9 does not validate and escape some of its shortcode attributes before outputting them back in a page/post where the shortcode is embed, which could allow users with the contributor role and above to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks.

The GamiPress – Gamification plugin to reward points, achievements, badges & ranks in WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 7.9.4 via the 'access' parameter due to missing validation on a user controlled key. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to view private GamiPress activity log entries belonging to any user, including badge earnings, points balance changes, and event records from integrated plugins such as WooCommerce, LearnDash, and BuddyPress. This is exploitable by any unauthenticated visitor because the required 'gamipress' nonce is broadcast to all front-end users via wplocalizescript on the wpenqueuescripts hook, making the sole authentication barrier trivially bypassable.
