Graphviz, a collection of tools for the manipulation and layout of graphs, was recently reported to be affected by a buffer overflow vulnerability from user input, which seem to be caused due to the acceptance of arbitrary long digit list by regex.

Graphviz, a collection of tools for the manipulation and layout of graphs, was recently reported to be affected by a buffer overflow vulnerability.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the "yyerror()" function (lib/cgraph/scan.l) and can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted file.

graphviz before 2.2.1 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on temporary files. NOTE: this issue was originally associated with a different CVE identifier, CVE-2005-2965, which had been used for multiple different issues. This is the correct identifier.
