IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog on Cloud Pak for Data 4.0 is potentially vulnerable to CSV Injection. A remote attacker could execute arbitrary commands on the system, caused by improper validation of csv file contents. IBM X-Force ID: 251782.
IBM InfoSphere Information Server 11.7.1.0 stores a common hard coded encryption key that could be used to decrypt sensitive information. IBM X-Force ID: 159229.
xml2js could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by a prototype pollution. By sending a specially-crafted request, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system.
A flaw was found in undertow. The undertow client is not checking the server identity the server certificate presents in HTTPS connections. This is a compulsory step ( that should at least be performed by default) in HTTPS and in http/2.
A flaw was found in Undertow where a potential security issue in flow control handling by browser over HTTP/2 may potentially cause overhead or DOS in the server. The highest impact of this vulnerability is availability.(incomplete fix for CVE-2021-3629)
An Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in packet processing of Juniper Networks Junos OS on QFX10002 allows an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker on the local broadcast domain sending a malformed packet to the device, causing all PFEs other than the inbound PFE to wedge and to eventually restart, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) condition. Continued receipt and processing of this packet will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition. This issue can only be triggered by sending a specific malformed packet to the device. Transit traffic does not trigger this issue. A flaw found was found in Spring Framework. This flaw allows a malicious user to use a specially crafted SpEL expression that causes a denial of service (DoS).
Impact
A specially crafted HTTP request can trigger an uncaught exception on the Engine.IO server, thus killing the Node.js process.
TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'handlesUpgrades') at Server.onWebSocket (build/server.js:515:67)
This impacts all the users of the engine.io package, including those who uses depending packages like socket.io.
Patches
A fix has been released today (2023/05/02): 6.4.2
This bug was introduced in version 5.1.0 and included in version 4.1.0 of the socket.io parent package. Older versions are not impacted.
For socket.io users:
| Version range | engine.io version | Needs minor update? | |-----------------------------|---------------------|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | socket.io@4.6.x | ~6.4.0 | npm audit fix should be sufficient | | socket.io@4.5.x | ~6.2.0 | Please upgrade to socket.io@4.6.x | | socket.io@4.4.x | ~6.1.0 | Please upgrade to socket.io@4.6.x | | socket.io@4.3.x | ~6.0.0 | Please upgrade to socket.io@4.6.x | | socket.io@4.2.x | ~5.2.0 | Please upgrade to socket.io@4.6.x | | socket.io@4.1.x | ~5.1.1 | Please upgrade to socket.io@4.6.x | | socket.io@4.0.x | ~5.0.0 | Not impacted | | socket.io@3.1.x | ~4.1.0 | Not impacted | | socket.io@3.0.x | ~4.0.0 | Not impacted | | socket.io@2.5.0 | ~3.6.0 | Not impacted | | socket.io@2.4.x and below | ~3.5.0 | Not impacted |
