The OceanWP WordPress theme before 4.1.2 is vulnerable to an option update due to a missing capability check on one of its AJAX request handler, allowing any authenticated users, such as subscriber to update the darkMod setting.

The OceanWP theme for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions 4.0.9 to 4.1.1. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the oceanwpnoticebuttonclick() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to install the Ocean Extra plugin via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
