DISPUTED Incomplete blacklist vulnerability in nrpe.c in Nagios Remote Plugin Executor (NRPE) 2.15 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a newline character in the -a option to libexec/checknrpe. NOTE: this issue is disputed by multiple parties. It has been reported that the vendor allows newlines as "expected behavior." Also, this issue can only occur when the administrator enables the "dontblamenrpe" option in nrpe.conf despite the "HIGH security risk" warning within the comments.

Stefan Esser reported a vulnerability in the PHP openssl extension. A memory corruption flaw was found in the way the opensslx509parse() function of the PHP openssl extension parsed X.509 certificates. A remote attacker could use this flaw to provide a malicious self-signed certificate or a certificate signed by a trusted authority to a PHP application using the aforementioned function, causing the application to crash or, possibly, allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running the PHP interpreter.
