CVE-2018-1270, which permitted a malicious user to craft a STOMP message that could lead to remote code execution, was not fully addressed in the 4.3.x branch of the Spring Framework.
Pivotal Spring Framework could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by the exposure of STOMP over WebSocket endpoints with a STOMP broker through the spring-messaging module. By sending a specially-crafted message, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system.
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Oracle ADF Faces. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the Remote Regions component. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in deserialization of untrusted data. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the web server.
A flaw was found in Spring Security in combination with Spring Framework versions prior to 5.0.6 contains an authorization bypass when using method security. An unauthorized malicious user can gain unauthorized access to methods that should be restricted.

A flaw was found in Spring Framework, versions 5.0.x prior to 5.0.6, versions 4.3.x prior to 4.3.17, and older unsupported versions allows applications to expose STOMP over WebSocket endpoints with a simple, in-memory STOMP broker through the spring-messaging module. A malicious user (or attacker) can craft a message to the broker that can lead to a regular expression, denial of service attack.
