A vulnerability was found in Hibernate-Validator. The SafeHtml validator annotation fails to properly sanitize payloads consisting of potentially malicious code in HTML comments and instructions. This vulnerability can result in an XSS attack.
In Apache Commons IO before 2.7, When invoking the method FileNameUtils.normalize with an improper input string, like "//../foo", or "\\..\foo", the result would be the same value, thus possibly providing access to files in the parent directory, but not further above (thus "limited" path traversal), if the calling code would use the result to construct a path value.

A flaw was found in Spring Framework, versions 5.0.x prior to 5.0.6, versions 4.3.x prior to 4.3.17, and older unsupported versions allows applications to expose STOMP over WebSocket endpoints with a simple, in-memory STOMP broker through the spring-messaging module. A malicious user (or attacker) can craft a message to the broker that can lead to a regular expression, denial of service attack.

Google Guava versions 11.0 through 24.1 are vulnerable to unbounded memory allocation in the AtomicDoubleArray class (when serialized with Java serialization) and Compound Ordering class (when serialized with GWT serialization). An attacker could exploit applications that use Guava and deserialize untrusted data to cause a denial of service.

Impact Passing HTML containing <option> elements from untrusted sources - even after sanitizing them - to one of jQuery's DOM manipulation methods (i.e. .html(), .append(), and others) may execute untrusted code.
Patches This problem is patched in jQuery 3.5.0.
Workarounds To workaround this issue without upgrading, use DOMPurify with its SAFEFORJQUERY option to sanitize the HTML string before passing it to a jQuery method.

A flaw was found in the Apache Xerces Java (XercesJ) XML parser when handling specially crafted XML document payloads. This issue causes the XercesJ XML parser to wait in an infinite loop, which may consume system resources for a prolonged duration, leading to a denial of service condition.
A flaw was found in the mysql-connector-java package. A complicated attack against the mysql Connector/J allows attackers on the local network to interfere with a user's connection and insert unauthorized SQL commands.

Patches This problem is patched in jQuery 3.5.0.
Workarounds To workaround the issue without upgrading, adding the following to your code:
js jQuery.htmlPrefilter = function( html ) { return html; };
You need to use at least jQuery 1.12/2.2 or newer to be able to apply this workaround.

Spring Framework, versions 5.2.x prior to 5.2.3 are vulnerable to CSRF attacks through CORS preflight requests that target Spring MVC (spring-webmvc module) or Spring WebFlux (spring-webflux module) endpoints. Only non-authenticated endpoints are vulnerable because preflight requests should not include credentials and therefore requests should fail authentication. However a notable exception to this are Chrome based browsers when using client certificates for authentication since Chrome sends TLS client certificates in CORS preflight requests in violation of spec requirements. No HTTP body can be sent or received as a result of this attack.

A flaw was found in json-smart. When an exception is thrown from a function, but is not caught, the program using the library may crash or expose sensitive information. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and system availability. In OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), the Hive/Presto/Hadoop components that comprise the OCP Metering stack, ship the vulnerable version of json-smart package. Since the release of OCP 4.6, the Metering product has been deprecated [1], hence the affected components are marked as wontfix. This may be fixed in the future. [1] https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.6/releasenotes/ocp-4-6-release-notes.html#ocp-4-6-metering-operator-deprecated
A Prototype Pollution vulnerability was found in jquery. Untrusted JSON passed to the extend function could lead to modifying objects up the prototype chain, including the global Object. A crafted JSON object passed to a vulnerable method could lead to denial of service or data injection, with various consequences.
ESAPI (The OWASP Enterprise Security API) is a free, open source, web application security control library. Prior to version 2.3.0.0, there is a potential for a cross-site scripting vulnerability in ESAPI caused by a incorrect regular expression for "onsiteURL" in the antisamy-esapi.xml configuration file that can cause "javascript:" URLs to fail to be correctly sanitized. This issue is patched in ESAPI 2.3.0.0. As a workaround, manually edit the antisamy-esapi.xml configuration files to change the "onsiteURL" regular expression. More information about remediation of the vulnerability, including the workaround, is available in the maintainers' release notes and security bulletin.
Affected versions of jquery-ui are vulnerable to a cross-site scripting vulnerability when arbitrary user input is supplied as the value of the closeText parameter in the dialog function.
jQuery-UI is a library for manipulating UI elements via jQuery.
Version 1.11.4 has a cross site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the closeText parameter of the dialog function. If your application passes user input to this parameter, it may be vulnerable to XSS via this attack vector.
Recommendation
Upgrade to jQuery-UI 1.12.0 or later.
