An information disclosure flaw was found in the way XMLHttpRequest object implementation in Qt, a software toolkit for developing applications, performed management of certain HTTP responses. Previous implementation allowed redirection from HTTP protocol to file schemas. Also the redirection handling was performed automatically by QML application and could not be disabled. A remote attacker could use this flaw to cause QML application in an unauthorized way to read local file content by causing the HTTP response for the application to be a redirect to a file: URL (file scheme).

src/network/ssl/qsslcertificate.cpp in Nokia Trolltech Qt 4.x does not properly handle a '\0' character in a domain name in the Subject Alternative Name field of an X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof arbitrary SSL servers via a crafted certificate issued by a legitimate Certification Authority, a related issue to CVE-2009-2408.

A security flaw was found in the way QSslSocket implementation of the Qt, a software toolkit for applications development, performed certificate verification callbacks, when Qt libraries were used with different OpenSSL version than the one, they were compiled against. In such scenario, this would result in a connection error, but with the SSL error list to contain QSslError:NoError instead of proper reason of the error. This might result in a confusing error being presented to the end users, possibly encouraging them to ignore the SSL errors for the site the connection was initiated against.

A security flaw was found in the way QSharedMemory class implementation of the Qt toolkit created shared memory segments (they were created with world-readable and world-writeable permissions). A local attacker could use this flaw to read or alter content of particular shared memory segment, possibly leading to their ability to obtain sensitive information or influence behaviour of shared memory segment reader process.
