An attacker could possibly use this issue to send maliciously crafted data to a client or server, causing a denial of service. An attacker could possibly use this issue to send a maliciously crafted HTTP request to the server, causing a denial of service or obtaining sensitive information. An attacker could possibly use this issue to send a maliciously crafted HTTP request to the server, causing a denial of service. Original advisory details: Aleandro Prudenzano and Edoardo Geraci discovered that HAProxy incorrectly handled certain uncommon configurations that replace multiple short patterns with a longer one. A remote attacker could use this issue to cause HAProxy to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code.

A remote attacker could use this issue to execute arbitrary commands without authentication, possibly leading to a system compromise.

If a user or automated system were tricked into processing a specially crafted TAR archive, an attacker could use this issue to cause libarchive to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code.
