Due to an error in a third-party dependency the ssl flags used for setting up a TLS connection to a server are overwitten with wrong settings. This results in a missing validation of the server certificate and thus in a possible TLS MITM szenario.

A flaw was found in multiple versions of Open vSwitch. Specially crafted LLDP packets can cause memory to be lost when allocating data to handle specific optional TLVs, potentially causing a denial of service. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability.

A buffer overflow was found in the lldpdecode function in daemon/protocols/lldp.c in lldpd. This flaw allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via vectors involving large management addresses and TLV boundaries. This threatens the system's confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Remedy

When the lldpd source is compiled with source fortification enabled, the flaw becomes unexploitable and will just cause a crash.
