Path Traversal
AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N

BACnet Stack is a BACnet open source protocol stack C library for embedded systems. Prior to 1.5.0.rc3, a vulnerability has been discovered in BACnet Stack's file writing functionality where there is no validation of user-provided file paths, allowing attackers to write files to arbitrary directories. This affects apps/readfile/main.c and ports/posix/bacfile-posix.c. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.5.0.rc3.

Buffer Overflow
AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H

BACnet Protocol Stack library provides a BACnet application layer, network layer and media access (MAC) layer communications services. In 1.4.2, 1.5.0.rc2, and earlier, an off-by-one stack-based buffer overflow in the ubasic interpreter causes a crash (SIGABRT) when processing string literals longer than the buffer limit. The tokenizerstring function in src/bacnet/basic/program/ubasic/tokenizer.c incorrectly handles null termination for maximum-length strings. It writes a null byte to dest[40] when the buffer size is only 40 (indices 0-39), triggering a stack overflow.

BACnet Test Server versions up to and including 1.01 contains a remote denial of service vulnerability in its BACnet/IP BVLC packet handling. The server fails to properly validate the BVLC Length field in incoming UDP BVLC frames on the default BACnet port (47808/udp). A remote unauthenticated attacker can send a malformed BVLC Length value to trigger an access violation and crash the application, resulting in a denial of service.

Input Validation
AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H

A vulnerability has been identified in BACnet ATEC 550-440 (All versions), BACnet ATEC 550-441 (All versions), BACnet ATEC 550-445 (All versions), BACnet ATEC 550-446 (All versions). Affected devices improperly handle specific incoming BACnet MSTP messages. This could allow an attacker residing in the same BACnet network to send a specially crafted MSTP message that results in a denial of service condition of the targeted device. A power cycle is required to restore the device's normal operation.
