Improper Following of a Certificate's Chain of Trust vulnerability in Erlang OTP publickey (pubkeycert module) allows a non-CA certificate to be accepted as an intermediate issuer, enabling certificate chain forgery.
In lib/publickey/src/pubkeycert.erl, pubkeycert:validateextensions/7 contains two flaws that together allow a certificate with basicConstraints cA:false and no keyUsage extension to be used as an intermediate issuer in a chain passed to publickey:pkixpathvalidation/3: the cA:false clause recurses into the remaining extensions without rejecting the certificate when it is in issuer position, and the keyUsage check only fires when the extension is present, so a certificate lacking keyUsage entirely bypasses the keyCertSign enforcement.
Any party holding an end-entity certificate with basicConstraints cA:false and no keyUsage extension, issued by any CA in the victim's trust store, can use that certificate's private key to sign forged leaf certificates for arbitrary identities. publickey:pkixpathvalidation/3 accepts the resulting chain, and by extension every TLS or mTLS endpoint built on the OTP ssl application that relies on the default verifier is affected, including server identity verification on the client side and client certificate verification on mTLS servers.
This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before OTP 26.2.5.21, 27.3.4.12, 28.5.0.1, and 29.0.1 corresponding to publickey from 0.22 before 1.15.1.7, 1.17.1.3, 1.20.3.1, and 1.21.1.
Integer Underflow (Wrap or Wraparound) vulnerability in erlang otp erlang/otp (erts modules), erlang otp erts (erts modules) allows Forced Integer Overflow, Excessive Allocation. This vulnerability is associated with program files erts/emulator/beam/external.c, emulator/beam/external.c.
The BITBINARYEXT tag (77) handler in the External Term Format (ETF) decoder accepts an encoding with both length and trailing-bits fields set to zero. The subsequent computation of the bitstring size underflows an unsigned integer, producing a value of roughly 2^64 that is then passed as a memory allocation size. The allocator aborts the entire node with a message such as "Cannot allocate 2305843009213693951 bytes of memory (of type binary)".
The crash is a VM-level abort, not an Erlang-level exception. It cannot be intercepted by supervision trees, by try/catch, or by passing the [safe] option to binarytoterm/2 (which only restricts atom creation and does not perform structural validation of binary encodings).
Any application that decodes ETF from untrusted sources via binarytoterm/1,2 or enifbinarytoterm() is exposed. The Erlang distribution protocol also decodes incoming terms through the same code path, but distribution is expected to run on trusted networks per the OTP Secure Coding Guidelines (DSG-011).
This issue affects OTP from OTP 27.0 before OTP 29.0.4, OTP 28.5.0.4 and OTP 27.3.4.15, corresponding to erts from 15.0 before 17.0.4, 16.4.0.4 and 15.2.7.11.

The web administration page for the Ericsson HM220dp ADSL modem does not require authentication, which could allow remote attackers to gain access from the LAN side.
Summary Authentication bypass occurs when the URL ends with Authentication with certain function calls. This bypass allows assigning arbitrary permissions to any existing user in CodeChecker.
Details
The following functions are affected under the Authentication endpoint: getAuthorisedNames, getPermissionsForUser, hasPermission, addPermission, and removePermission.
The vulnerability allows unauthenticated users to execute these function calls with arbitrary arguments. In the logs, the exploit shows as follows: [INFO 2026-04-23 21:23] - 127.0.0.1:42654 -- [Anonymous] POST /v6.67/Authentication@getAuthorisedNames [INFO 2026-04-23 21:23] - 127.0.0.1:42654 -- [Anonymous] POST /v6.67/Authentication@addPermission
Impact An attacker with a CodeChecker user can effectively acquire superuser permissions by calling these endpoints.
Patch A patch is available at https://github.com/Ericsson/codechecker/releases/tag/v6.27.4.
Ericsson Packet Core Controller (PCC) versions prior to 1.38 contain a vulnerability where an attacker sending a large volume of specially crafted messages may cause service degradation.
Ericsson Indoor Connect 8855 versions prior to 2025.Q3 contains an Improper Filtering of Special Elements vulnerability which, if exploited, can lead to unauthorized modification of certain information
Ericsson Indoor Connect 8855 versions prior to 2025.Q3 contains a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability which, if exploited, can lead to unauthorized modification of certain information.
Ericsson Indoor Connect 8855 versions prior to 2025.Q3 contains a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability which, if exploited, can lead to unauthorized disclosure and modification of certain information.
Summary CodeChecker versions up to 6.26.1 contain a buffer overflow vulnerability in the internal ldlogger library, which is executed by the CodeChecker log command.
Details Unsafe usage of strcpy() function in the internal ldlogger library allows attackers to trigger a buffer overflow by supplying crafted inputs from the command line. Specifically, the destination buffer is stack-allocated with a fixed size of 4096 bytes, while strcpy() is called without any length checks, enabling an attacker to overrun the buffer.
PoC Example script is included below to illustrate how this vulnerability can be exploited. bash #!/bin/bash
export CCLOGGERDEFDIRS=1; payload=''; for i in $(seq 1 4090); do payload+='A'; done
CodeChecker log -b "/very/long/path/to/$payload/gcc a.c" -o compilation.json
Impact Any environment where the vulnerable CodeChecker log command is executed with untrusted user input is affected by this vulnerability.
Summary Authentication method confusion allows logging in as the built-in root user from an external service. The built-in root user is generated in a weak manner, cannot be disabled, and has universal access.
Details Until CodeChecker version 6.24.1 there was an auto-generated super-user account that could not be disabled. The attacker needs to know only the username of the root user.
This root user is unconditionally assigned superuser permissions.
Which means that if any user via any service logs in with the root user's username, they will unconditionally have superuser permissions on the CodeChecker instance.
The name of the user name can be found in root.user file in the CodeChecker configuration directory. You can check if you are impacted by checking the existence of this user in the external authentication services (e.g. LDAP, PAM etc.).
Impact This vulnerability allows an attacker who can create an account on an enabled external authentication service, to log in as the root user, and access and control everything that can be controlled via the web interface. The attacker needs to acquire the username of the root user to be successful.
Summary Authentication bypass occurs when the API URL ends with Authentication, Configuration or ServerInfo. This bypass allows superuser access to all API endpoints other than Authentication. These endpoints include the ability to add, edit, and remove products, among others.
Details All endpoints, apart from the /Authentication is affected by the vulnerability.
The vulnerability allows unauthenticated users to access all API functionality. You can look for the following pattern in the logs to check if the vulnerabilty was exploited: !image
Note that the url starts with v and contains a valid CodeChecker endpoint, but it ends in Authentication, Configuration or ServerInfo and it was made by an Anonymous user.
Impact This authentication bypass allows querying, adding, changing, and deleting Products contained on the CodeChecker server, without authentication, by an anonymous user.
Summary Cross-site request forgery allows an unauthenticated attacker to hijack the authentication of a logged in user, and use the web API with the same permissions.
Details Security attributes like HttpOnly and SameSite are missing from the session cookie, allowing its use from XHR requests and form submissions. The CodeChecker API endpoints only require the session cookie, they do not require a CSRF token, and missing HTTP headers allow the form submission to succeed (but not XHR). This means that the attacker needs to know the ID of products to edit or delete them, but it does not need knowledge to create new products with the SQLite backend.
PoC With a superuser logged into CodeChecker.
html <html><body> <form action="https://codechecker.example.com/v6.58/Products" method="POST" enctype="text/plain"> <input type="text" name='[1,"getProducts",1,1,{}]' value=''> </form> <script>document.forms[0].submit()</script> </body></html> Or the same form attack on any of the applicable endpoints.
Impact The vulnerability allows an attacker to make requests to CodeChecker as the currently logged in user, including but not limited to adding, removing or editing products. The attacker needs to know the ID of the available products to modify or delete them. The attacker cannot directly exfiltrate data from CodeChecker, due to being limited to form-based CSRF.
CodeChecker is an analyzer tooling, defect database and viewer extension for the Clang Static Analyzer and Clang Tidy.
The CodeChecker web server contains an open redirect vulnerability due to missing protections against multiple slashes after the product name in the URL. This results in bypassing the protections against CVE-2021-28861, leading to the same open redirect pathway.
This issue affects CodeChecker: through 6.24.5.
