An out-of-bounds write vulnerability exists in the JPEG2000Codec::DecodeByStreamsCommon functionality of Mathieu Malaterre Grassroot DICOM 3.0.23. A specially crafted DICOM file can lead to a heap buffer overflow. An attacker can provide a malicious file to trigger this vulnerability.
Arbitrary code execution during build via line directives in cmd/go
Golang Go could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by a flaw when running "go get" on a malicious module. By sending a specially crafted request using linker flags, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system.
Apache Tomcat could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by a file read/inclusion vulnerability in the AJP connector. By sending a specially-crafted request, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to read web application files from a vulnerable server and upload malicious JavaServer Pages (JSP) code within a variety of file types and execute arbitrary code on the system.
Note: This vulnerability is known as Ghostcat.
Certifi 2023.07.22 removes root certificates from "e-Tugra" from the root store. These are in the process of being removed from Mozilla's trust store.
e-Tugra's root certificates are being removed pursuant to an investigation prompted by reporting of security issues in their systems. Conclusions of Mozilla's investigation can be found here.
A flaw was found in OpenSSL. The crehash script does not properly sanitize shell meta-characters to prevent command injection. Some operating systems distribute this script in a manner where it is automatically executed. This flaw allows an attacker to execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of the script on these operating systems.
Fixed bug (mail() may release string with refcount==1 twice). (CVE-2019-11049)

Command injection via array-ish $command parameter of procopen()
Summary
Log4j versions prior to 2.16.0 are subject to a remote code execution vulnerability via the ldap JNDI parser. As per Apache's Log4j security guide: Apache Log4j2 <=2.14.1 JNDI features used in configuration, log messages, and parameters do not protect against attacker controlled LDAP and other JNDI related endpoints. An attacker who can control log messages or log message parameters can execute arbitrary code loaded from LDAP servers when message lookup substitution is enabled. From log4j 2.16.0, this behavior has been disabled by default.
Log4j version 2.15.0 contained an earlier fix for the vulnerability, but that patch did not disable attacker-controlled JNDI lookups in all situations. For more information, see the Updated advice for version 2.16.0 section of this advisory.
Impact
Logging untrusted or user controlled data with a vulnerable version of Log4J may result in Remote Code Execution (RCE) against your application. This includes untrusted data included in logged errors such as exception traces, authentication failures, and other unexpected vectors of user controlled input.
Affected versions
Any Log4J version prior to v2.15.0 is affected to this specific issue.
The v1 branch of Log4J which is considered End Of Life (EOL) is vulnerable to other RCE vectors so the recommendation is to still update to 2.16.0 where possible.
Security releases Additional backports of this fix have been made available in versions 2.3.1, 2.12.2, and 2.12.3
Affected packages Only the org.apache.logging.log4j:log4j-core package is directly affected by this vulnerability. The org.apache.logging.log4j:log4j-api should be kept at the same version as the org.apache.logging.log4j:log4j-core package to ensure compatability if in use.
Remediation Advice
Updated advice for version 2.16.0
The Apache Logging Services team provided updated mitigation advice upon the release of version 2.16.0, which disables JNDI by default and completely removes support for message lookups. Even in version 2.15.0, lookups used in layouts to provide specific pieces of context information will still recursively resolve, possibly triggering JNDI lookups. This problem is being tracked as CVE-2021-45046. More information is available on the GitHub Security Advisory for CVE-2021-45046.
Users who want to avoid attacker-controlled JNDI lookups but cannot upgrade to 2.16.0 must ensure that no such lookups resolve to attacker-provided data and ensure that the the JndiLookup class is not loaded.
Please note that Log4J v1 is End Of Life (EOL) and will not receive patches for this issue. Log4J v1 is also vulnerable to other RCE vectors and we recommend you migrate to Log4J 2.16.0 where possible.
A crafted request uri-path can cause modproxy to forward the request to an origin server choosen by the remote user. This issue affects Apache HTTP Server 2.4.48 and earlier.
A Polymorphic Typing issue was discovered in FasterXML jackson-databind before 2.9.10, 2.8.11.5, and 2.6.7.3. It is related to com.zaxxer.hikari.HikariDataSource. This is a different vulnerability than CVE-2019-14540.
pgjdbc is the offical PostgreSQL JDBC Driver. A security hole was found in the jdbc driver for postgresql database while doing security research. The system using the postgresql library will be attacked when attacker control the jdbc url or properties. pgjdbc instantiates plugin instances based on class names provided via authenticationPluginClassName, sslhostnameverifier, socketFactory, sslfactory, sslpasswordcallback connection properties. However, the driver did not verify if the class implements the expected interface before instantiating the class. This can lead to code execution loaded via arbitrary classes. Users using plugins are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this issue.
An out-of-bounds read/write vulnerability was found in the modsed module of httpd. This flaw allows an attacker to overwrite the memory of an httpd instance that is using modsed with data provided by the attacker.
A flaw was found in httpd. The inbound connection is not closed when it fails to discard the request body, which may expose the server to HTTP request smuggling.
A flaw was found in httpd, where it incorrectly limits the value of the LimitXMLRequestBody option. This issue can lead to an integer overflow and later causes an out-of-bounds write.
A flaw was discovered in FasterXML jackson-databind, where it would permit polymorphic deserialization of malicious objects using the ehcache and logback JNDI gadgets when used in conjunction with polymorphic type handling methods such as enableDefaultTyping() or when @JsonTypeInfo is using Id.CLASS or Id.MINIMALCLASS or in any other way which ObjectMapper.readValue might instantiate objects from unsafe sources. An attacker could use this flaw to execute arbitrary code.
A flaw was found in golang. This vulnerability can only be triggered when invoking functions from vulnerable WASM (WebAssembly) Modules. Go can be compiled to WASM. If the product or service doesn't use WASM functions, it is not affected, although it uses golang.
A flaw was found in CORS Filter feature from the go-restful package. When a user inputs a domain which is in AllowedDomains, all domains starting with the same pattern are accepted. This issue could allow an attacker to break the CORS policy by allowing any page to make requests and retrieve data on behalf of users.
Impact SQL injection is possible when using the non-default connection property preferQueryMode=simple in combination with application code that has a vulnerable SQL that negates a parameter value.
There is no vulnerability in the driver when using the default query mode. Users that do not override the query mode are not impacted.
Exploitation
To exploit this behavior the following conditions must be met:
1. A placeholder for a numeric value must be immediately preceded by a minus (i.e. -) 1. There must be a second placeholder for a string value after the first placeholder on the same line. 1. Both parameters must be user controlled.
The prior behavior of the driver when operating in simple query mode would inline the negative value of the first parameter and cause the resulting line to be treated as a -- SQL comment. That would extend to the beginning of the next parameter and cause the quoting of that parameter to be consumed by the comment line. If that string parameter includes a newline, the resulting text would appear unescaped in the resulting SQL.
When operating in the default extended query mode this would not be an issue as the parameter values are sent separately to the server. Only in simple query mode the parameter values are inlined into the executed SQL causing this issue.
Example
java PreparedStatement stmt = conn.prepareStatement("SELECT -?, ?"); stmt.setInt(1, -1); stmt.setString(2, "\nWHERE false --"); ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery();
The resulting SQL when operating in simple query mode would be:
sql SELECT --1,' WHERE false --'
The contents of the second parameter get injected into the command. Note how both the number of result columns and the WHERE clause of the command have changed. A more elaborate example could execute arbitrary other SQL commands.
Patch Problem will be patched upgrade to 42.7.2, 42.6.1, 42.5.5, 42.4.4, 42.3.9, 42.2.28, 42.2.28.jre7
The patch fixes the inlining of parameters by forcing them all to be serialized as wrapped literals. The SQL in the prior example would be transformed into:
sql SELECT -('-1'::int4), (' WHERE false --')
Workarounds Do not use the connection propertypreferQueryMode=simple. (NOTE: If you do not explicitly specify a query mode then you are using the default of extended and are not impacted by this issue.)
A security vulnerability was found in zlib. The flaw triggered a heap-based buffer in inflate in the inflate.c function via a large gzip header extra field. This flaw is only applicable in the call inflateGetHeader.
A flaw was found in OpenSSL. The issue in CVE-2022-1292 did not find other places in the crehash script where it possibly passed the file names of certificates being hashed to a command executed through the shell. Some operating systems distribute this script in a manner where it is automatically executed. On these operating systems, this flaw allows an attacker to execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of the script.
A flaw was found in expat. Passing malformed 2- and 3-byte UTF-8 sequences (for example, from start tag names) to the XML processing application on top of expat can lead to arbitrary code execution. This issue is dependent on how invalid UTF-8 is handled inside the XML processor.
An integer overflow was found in expat. The issue occurs in storeRawNames() by abusing the mbuffer expansion logic to allow allocations very close to INTMAX and out-of-bounds heap writes. This flaw can cause a denial of service or potentially arbitrary code execution.

Accessibility. A privacy issue was addressed with improved private data redaction for log entries.
An integer overflow was found in the vsysloginternal function of the glibc library. This function is called by the syslog and vsyslog functions. This issue occurs when these functions are called with a very long message, leading to an incorrect calculation of the buffer size to store the message, resulting in undefined behavior. This issue affects glibc 2.37 and newer.
