See how gallery compares to other vendors in security performance
The Gallery PhotoBlocks WordPress plugin before 1.3.6 does not sanitize and escape one of its gallery settings before outputting it into an HTML attribute, allowing users with Contributor-level access and above to store JavaScript that executes in the browser of anyone who views a page containing the gallery, including administrators.
PHP remote file include vulnerability in index.php for Gallery 1.4 and 1.4-pl1, when running on Windows or in Configuration mode on Unix, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the GALLERYBASEDIR parameter, a different vulnerability than CVE-2002-1412. NOTE: this issue might be exploitable only during installation, or if the administrator has not run a security script after installation.
The Gallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 1.3 via deserialization of untrusted input from wdgallery$id parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code.
Gallery 1.5.x before 1.5.10 and 1.6 before 1.6-RC3, when registerglobals is enabled, allows remote attackers to bypass authentication and gain administrative via unspecified cookies. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.
Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Gallery 2.x before 2.2.6 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted Flash animation, related to the ability of the animation to "interact with the embedding page."
Gallery before 1.5.9, and 2.x before 2.2.6, does not properly handle ZIP archives containing symbolic links, which allows remote authenticated users to conduct directory traversal attacks and read arbitrary files via vectors related to the archive upload (aka zip upload) functionality.
Gallery before 1.5.9, and 2.x before 2.2.6, does not set the secure flag for the session cookie in an https session, which can cause the cookie to be sent in http requests and make it easier for remote attackers to capture this cookie.
Multiple information exposure flaws were found in the way data rest core module of Gallery version 3, an open source project with the goal to develop and support leading photo sharing web application solutions, used to previously restrict access to certain items of the photo album. A remote attacker, valid Gallery 3 user, could use this flaw to possibly obtain sensitive information (file, resize or thumb path of the item in question).

A security flaw was found in the way flowplayer SWF file handling functionality of Gallery version 3, an open source project with the goal to develop and support leading photo sharing web application solutions, processed certain URL fragments passed to this file (certain URL fragments were not stripped properly when these files were called via direct URL request(s)). A remote attacker could use this flaw to conduct replay attacks.
A different vulnerability than CVE-2013-2138.

It was reported [1] that some low-risk XSS flaws that are limited to the administration area were found in Gallery 3.x and 2.x. In addition, some unspecified possible encryption-related flaws were also reported. These issues have been corrected in Gallery 2.3.2 and 3.0.3.
