Vulnerability in Oracle Linux (component: OSwatcher). Supported versions that are affected are 7 and 8. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with logon to the infrastructure where Oracle Linux executes to compromise Oracle Linux. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in takeover of Oracle Linux. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 7.8 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H).
A flaw was found in pki-core 10.10. Older versions are not affected.
When the pkispawn command is run in debug mode, admin credentials are stored in the installation log file, which is world readable.
An integer overflow issue was found in the AMD PC-Net II NIC emulation in QEMU. It could occur while receiving packets, if the size value was greater than INTMAX. Such overflow would lead to stack buffer overflow issue. A user inside guest could use this flaw to crash the QEMU process resulting in DoS.
The cryptoxmit function in ntpd in NTP 4.2.x before 4.2.8p4, and 4.3.x before 4.3.77 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash). NOTE: This vulnerability exists due to an incomplete fix for CVE-2014-9750.
The "pidfile" or "driftfile" directives in NTP ntpd 4.2.x before 4.2.8p4, and 4.3.x before 4.3.77, when ntpd is configured to allow remote configuration, allows remote attackers with an IP address that is allowed to send configuration requests, and with knowledge of the remote configuration password to write to arbitrary files via the :config command.
buffer.c in named in ISC BIND 9 before 9.9.9-P3, 9.10.x before 9.10.4-P3, and 9.11.x before 9.11.0rc3 does not properly construct responses, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (assertion failure and daemon exit) via a crafted query.
Linux kernel built with the 802.1Q/802.1ad VLAN(CONFIGVLAN8021Q) OR Virtual eXtensible Local Area Network(CONFIGVXLAN) with Transparent Ethernet Bridging(TEB) GRO support, is vulnerable to a stack overflow issue. It could occur while receiving large packets via GRO path; As an unlimited recursion could unfold in both VLAN and TEB modules, leading to a stack corruption in the kernel.
A remote user could use this falw to cause kernel panic by sending maliciously crafted packets to a server that has GRO enabled.
Additional requirement for attacking VLAN is to have 8021q module loaded. Additional requirement for attacking TEB is to have increased MTU.

Insomnia Security (as part of a pre-arranged commercial engagement) reports:
A vulnerability in libarchive exists that allows an archive Entry with type 1 (hardlink), but has a non-zero data size to cause a file overwrite. This vulnerability can be leveraged in a way that has a significant security impact (this was not clear at first during initial research by upstream).
It was discovered that the Tomcat packages installed configuration file /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/tomcat.conf writeable to the tomcat group. A member of the group or a malicious web application deployed on Tomcat could use this flaw to escalate their privileges.
Unspecified vulnerability in Oracle MySQL 5.5.49 and earlier, 5.6.30 and earlier, and 5.7.12 and earlier and MariaDB before 5.5.50, 10.0.x before 10.0.26, and 10.1.x before 10.1.15 allows local users to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability via vectors related to Server: Parser.
An OOB read flaw was found in the RFC 3161 Public Key Infrastructure Time-Stamp Protocol code of OpenSSL. An attacker could use this flaw to cause the openssl binary to crash when specially-crafted time-stamp file is parsed via the "openssl ts" command.

Apache Tomcat 7.x through 7.0.70 and 8.x through 8.5.4, when the CGI Servlet is enabled, follows RFC 3875 section 4.1.18 and therefore does not protect applications from the presence of untrusted client data in the HTTPPROXY environment variable, which might allow remote attackers to redirect an application's outbound HTTP traffic to an arbitrary proxy server via a crafted Proxy header in an HTTP request, aka an "httpoxy" issue. NOTE: the vendor states "A mitigation is planned for future releases of Tomcat, tracked as CVE-2016-5388"; in other words, this is not a CVE ID for a vulnerability.
Dominic Scheirlinck of VendHQ reports:
Many software projects and vendors have implemented support for the “Proxy” request header in their respective CGI implementations and languages by creating the “HTTPPROXY” environmental variable based on the header value. When this variable is used (in many cases automatically by various HTTP client libraries) any outgoing requests generated in turn from the attackers original request can be redirected to an attacker controlled proxy. This allows attackers to view potentially sensitive information, reply with malformed data, or to hold connections open causing a potential denial of service.
The Go programming language can automatically populate the HTTPPROXY environmental variable with a user supplied "Proxy" header.
apache. Multiple issues existed in Apache. These were addressed by updating Apache to version 2.4.25.
A flaw was found in the Datagram TLS (DTLS) replay protection implementation in OpenSSL. A remote attacker could possibly use this flaw to make a DTLS server using OpenSSL to reject further packets sent from a DTLS client over an established DTLS connection.
It was discovered that the Datagram TLS (DTLS) implementation could fail to release memory in certain cases. A malicious DTLS client could cause a DTLS server using OpenSSL to consume an excessive amount of memory and, possibly, exit unexpectedly after exhausting all available memory.
An out-of-bounds heap memory access, leading to a Denial of Service or possibly heap disclosure or further impact was found in setsockopt(). The particular setsockopt() call is normally restricted to root, however some processes with capsysadmin may also be able to trigger this flaw.

A flaw was discovered in processing setsockopt for 32 bit processes on 64 bit systems. This flaw will allow attackers to alter arbitary kernel memory when unloading a kernel module. This action is usually restricted to root-priveledged users but can also be leveraged if the kernel is compiled with CONFIGUSERNS and CONFIGNETNS and the user is granted elevated priveledges.
This flaw was introduced in commit 52e804c6dfaa,

Integer overflow in the ISO9660 writer in libarchive before 3.2.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or execute arbitrary code via vectors related to verifying filename lengths when writing an ISO9660 archive, which trigger a buffer overflow.
A cpio archive with a ridiculously large symlink can cause memory allocation to fail, resulting in any attempt to view or extract the archive crashing. The failed allocation appears to be handled correctly within libarchive and not lead to further issues.

A vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel. Payloads of NM entries are not supposed to contain NUL. When such entry is processed, only the part prior to the first NUL goes into the concatenation (i.e. the directory entry name being encoded by a bunch of NM entries). The process stops when the amount collected so far + the claimed amount in the current NM entry exceed 254.
However, the value returned as the total length is the sum of claimed sizes, not the actual amount collected. And that can grow pretty large - not unlimited, since you'd need to put CE entries in between to be able to get more than the maximum that could be contained in one isofs directory entry / continuation chunk and the process stops once it had encountered 32 CEs, but you can get about 8Kb easily. And that's what will be passed to readdir callback as the name length. 8Kb copytouser() from a buffer allocated by getfreepage()

A use after free vulnerability was found in pppunregisterchannel function. This is triggered when network namespace is removed while pppasync channel is still registered in it and pppunregisterchannel() tries to access its per-netns data in the defunct namespace.
An attacker who could control this memory that is being used in the defunct namespace could create a denial of service by spinlocking a CPU.
An unprivileged local user could use this flaw to induce kernel memory corruption on the system, leading to a crash. Due to the nature of the flaw, privilege escalation cannot be fully ruled out, although we believe it is unlikely.
