A flaw was found in edk2. A integer underflow in the SmmEntryPoint function leads to a write into the SMM region allowing a local attacker with administration privileges on the system to execute code within the SMM privileged context. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability.
Buffer overflow in system firmware for EDK II may allow unauthenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege and/or denial of service via network access.
Buffer overflow in network stack for EDK II may allow unprivileged user to potentially enable escalation of privilege and/or denial of service via network.
Buffer Overflow in EDK II Network Package
EDK2's Network Package is susceptible to a buffer overflow vulnerability when processing DNS Servers option from a DHCPv6 Advertise message. This vulnerability can be exploited by an attacker to gain unauthorized access and potentially lead to a loss of Confidentiality, Integrity and/or Availability.

The Ubuntu edk2 UEFI firmware packages accidentally allowed the UEFI Shell to be accessed in Secure Boot environments, possibly allowing bypass of Secure Boot constraints. Versions 2024.05-2ubuntu0.3 and 2024.02-2ubuntu0.3 disable the Shell. Some previous versions inserted a secure-boot-based decision to continue running inside the Shell itself, which is believed to be sufficient to enforce Secure Boot restrictions. This is an additional repair on top of the incomplete fix for CVE-2023-48733.
A flaw was found in edk2. When registering a Ram disk whose size is not a multiple of 512 bytes, the BlockIo protocol produced by the RamDiskDxe driver will incur memory read/write overrun. The memory overrun will happen when reading/writing the last block on the Ram disk.

Function IscsiMisc.c:IScsiHexToBin() in NetworkPkg/IScsiDxe does not correctly check the sizes of the input and output buffers, allowing an attacker who can control the input buffer to cause a buffer overflow in the destination buffer. Function IScsiHexToBin is used to decode strings passed as part of iSCSI Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol(CHAP), before authentication takes place. Thus an attacker, who can either inject himself in the communication between edk2 and the iSCSI target or control the iSCSI target used by edk2, can trigger this flaw and potentially execute code in the edk2 firmware.

EDK2 is susceptible to a vulnerability in the Tcg2MeasurePeImage() function, allowing a user to trigger a heap buffer overflow via a local network. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in a compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and/or availability.
EDK2 is susceptible to a vulnerability in the Tcg2MeasureGptTable() function, allowing a user to trigger a heap buffer overflow via a local network. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in a compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and/or availability.
EDK2 is susceptible to a vulnerability in the CreateHob() function, allowing a user to trigger a integer overflow to buffer overflow via a local network. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in a compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and/or availability.
Bounds checking in Tianocompress before November 7, 2017 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable an escalation of privilege via local access.

Improper configuration in system firmware for EDK II may allow unauthenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege, information disclosure and/or denial of service via local access.
AuthenticodeVerify() calls OpenSSLs d2iPKCS7() API to parse asn encoded signed authenticode pkcs#7 data. when this successfully returns, a type check is done by calling PKCS7typeissigned() and then Pkcs7->d.sign->contents->type is used. It is possible to construct an asn1 blob that successfully decodes and have d2iPKCS7() return a valid pointer and have PKCS7typeissigned() also return success but have Pkcs7->d.sign be a NULL pointer.

A BIOS bug in firmware for a particular PC model leaves the Platform authorization value empty. This can be used to permanently brick the TPM in multiple ways, as well as to non-permanently DoS the system.
