An issue was discovered in http/ContentLengthInterpreter.cc in Squid before 4.12 and 5.x before 5.0.3. A Request Smuggling and Poisoning attack can succeed against the HTTP cache. The client sends an HTTP request with a Content-Length header containing "+\ "-" or an uncommon shell whitespace character prefix to the length field-value.
A use-after-free vulnerability was found in systemd. This issue occurs due to the onstreamio() function and dnsstreamcomplete() function in 'resolved-dns-stream.c' not incrementing the reference counting for the DnsStream object. Therefore, other functions and callbacks called can dereference the DNSStream object, causing the use-after-free when the reference is still used later.
IBM Security Guardium 11.2 does not require that users should have strong passwords by default, which makes it easier for attackers to compromise user accounts. IBM X-Force ID: 196279.
IBM Security Guardium 11.2 contains hard-coded credentials, such as a password or cryptographic key, which it uses for its own inbound authentication, outbound communication to external components, or encryption of internal data. IBM X-Force ID: 196313.
filecopyfallback in gio/gfile.c in GNOME GLib 2.15.0 through 2.61.1 creates new files with default permissions and set the correct permissions after the operation is finished. This might cause that the files can be accessible by more users during the operation than expected.

cURL libcurl is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the tftpreceivepacket function. By sending specially-crafted request containing an OACK without the BLKSIZE option, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.
A flaw was discovered in dbus where the implementation of DBUSCOOKIESHA1 is susceptible to a symbolic link attack. A malicious client with write access to its own home directory could manipulate a ~/.dbus-keyrings symlink to cause the DBusServer to read and write in unintended locations. This could result in authentication bypass.
IBM Security Guardium 11.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system. By sending a specially-crafted request, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary commands on the system. IBM X-Force ID: 195766.
IBM Security Guardium 11.1 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system. By sending a specially-crafted request, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary commands on the system. IBM X-Force ID: 174735.
A flaw in XML parsing could have led to a use-after-free causing a potentially exploitable crash. In official releases of Firefox this vulnerability is mitigated by wasm sandboxing; versions managed by Linux distributions may have other settings.
An arbitrary file write vulnerability was found in GNU gzip's zgrep utility. When zgrep is applied on the attacker's chosen file name (for example, a crafted file name), this can overwrite an attacker's content to an arbitrary attacker-selected file. This flaw occurs due to insufficient validation when processing filenames with two or more newlines where selected content and the target file names are embedded in crafted multi-line file names. This flaw allows a remote, low privileged attacker to force zgrep to write arbitrary files on the system.
IBM Security Guardium 11.2 is vulnerable to SQL injection. A remote attacker could send specially crafted SQL statements, which could allow the attacker to view, add, modify or delete information in the back-end database. IBM X-Force ID: 192710.
A flaw was found in PostgreSQL that allows authenticated database users to execute arbitrary code through missing overflow checks during SQL array value modification. This issue exists due to an integer overflow during array modification where a remote user can trigger the overflow by providing specially crafted data. This enables the execution of arbitrary code on the target system, allowing users to write arbitrary bytes to memory and extensively read the server's memory.
IBM Security Guardium 11.3, 11.4, and 11.5 is potentially vulnerable to CSV injection. A remote attacker could execute malicious commands due to improper validation of csv file contents. IBM X-Force ID: 265262.

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. A logic error in eventpoll.c can cause a use-after-free, leading to a local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to confidentiality, integrity as well as system availability.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s multi-touch input system. An out-of-bounds write triggered by a use-after-free issue could lead to memory corruption or possible privilege escalation. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to confidentiality, integrity, as well as system availability.
A flaw was found in rsyslog's reception TCP modules. This flaw allows an attacker to craft a malicious message leading to a heap-based buffer overflow. This issue allows the attacker to corrupt or access data stored in memory, leading to a denial of service in the rsyslog or possible remote code execution.
A flaw was found in the way Apache CXF handle exceptions when CXF is configured to use the com.sun.net.ssl implementation via System.setProperty("java.protocol.handler.pkgs", "com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol") function. When this system property is set, CXF uses some reflection to try to make the HostnameVerifier work with the old com.sun.net.ssl.HostnameVerifier interface. However, the default HostnameVerifier implementation in CXF does not implement the method in this interface therefore an exception is thrown. The exception is caught in the reflection code but not properly propagated which leaves CXF client subject to man-in-the-middle attacks.

Impact
When using --userns-remap, if the root user in the remapped namespace has access to the host filesystem they can modify files under /var/lib/docker/<remapping> that cause writing files with extended privileges.
Patches
Versions 20.10.3 and 19.03.15 contain patches that prevent privilege escalation from remapped user.

A flaw was found in the linux kernel, unixgc() assumes that candidate sockets can never gain an external reference (i.e. be installed into an fd) while the unixgclock is held. Except for MSGPEEK this is guaranteed by modifying inflight count under the unixgclock.

A vulnerability was found in the device-mapper-multipath. The device-mapper-multipath allows local users to obtain root access, exploited alone or in conjunction with CVE-2022-41973. Local users that are able to write to UNIX domain sockets can bypass access controls and manipulate the multipath setup. This issue occurs because an attacker can repeat a keyword, which is mishandled when arithmetic ADD is used instead of bitwise OR. This could lead to local privilege escalation to root.
A heap-based buffer overflow was found in the way sudo parses command line arguments.
As per the researcher this vulnerability:
- is exploitable by any local user (normal users and system users, sudoers and non-sudoers), without authentication (i.e., the attacker does not need to know the user's password);
- was introduced in July 2011 (commit 8255ed69), and affects all legacy versions from 1.8.2 to 1.8.31p2 and all stable versions from 1.9.0 to 1.9.5p1, in their default configuration.
This could lead to privilege escalation.
A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's fs/smb/client component can be exploited to achieve local privilege escalation.
In case of an error in smb3fscontextparseparam, ctx->password was freed but the field was not set to NULL which could lead to double free.

IBM Security Guardium 10.6 and 11.2 could allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system as an unprivileged user, caused by command injection vulnerability. IBM X-Force ID: 186700.
IBM Security Guardium Database Activity Monitor appliance could allow a local user to inject commands that would be executed as root.
IBM Security Guardium EcoSystem 10.5 stores user credentials in plain in clear text which can be read by a local user. IBM X-Force ID: 141223.
VMware Tools (12.0.0, 11.x.y and 10.x.y) contains a local privilege escalation vulnerability. A malicious actor with local non-administrative access to the Guest OS can escalate privileges as a root user in the virtual machine.
IBM Security Guardium 11.3, 11.4, and 11.5 could allow a local user to obtain elevated privileges due to incorrect authorization checks. IBM X-Force ID: 216753.
A out-of-bounds write flaw was found in the xorg-x11-server. This issue occurs due to an incorrect calculation of a buffer offset when copying data stored in the heap in the XIChangeDeviceProperty function in Xi/xiproperty.c and in RRChangeOutputProperty function in randr/rrproperty.c, allowing for possible escalation of privileges or denial of service.
