This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX Series and QFX5K Series: 15.1 versions prior to 15.1R7-S7; 16.1 versions prior to 16.1R7-S8; 17.2 versions prior to 17.2R3-S4; 17.3 versions prior to 17.3R3-S8; 17.4 versions prior to 17.4R2-S11, 17.4R3-S2; 18.1 versions prior to 18.1R3-S10; 18.2 versions prior to 18.2R3-S5; 18.3 versions prior to 18.3R2-S4, 18.3R3-S2; 18.4 versions prior to 18.4R2-S5, 18.4R3-S3; 19.1 versions prior to 19.1R2-S2, 19.1R3-S2; 19.2 versions prior to 19.2R1-S5, 19.2R2-S1, 19.2R3; 19.3 versions prior to 19.3R2-S4, 19.3R3; 19.4 versions prior to 19.4R1-S3, 19.4R2-S1, 19.4R3; 20.1 versions prior to 20.1R1-S2, 20.1R2.
A vulnerability in the BGP FlowSpec implementation may cause a Juniper Networks Junos OS device to terminate an established BGP session upon receiving a specific BGP FlowSpec advertisement. The BGP NOTIFICATION message that terminates an established BGP session is sent toward the peer device that originally sent the specific BGP FlowSpec advertisement. This specific BGP FlowSpec advertisement received from a BGP peer might get propagated from a Junos OS device running the fixed release to another device that is vulnerable causing BGP session termination downstream. This issue affects IPv4 and IPv6 BGP FlowSpec deployment. This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS: 12.3; 12.3X48 on SRX Series; 14.1X53 on EX and QFX Series; 15.1 versions prior to 15.1R7-S5; 15.1F versions prior to 15.1F6-S13; 15.1X49 versions prior to 15.1X49-D180 on SRX Series; 15.1X53 versions prior to 15.1X53-D238 on QFX5200/QFX5110; 15.1X53 versions prior to 15.1X53-D497 on NFX Series; 15.1X53 versions prior to 15.1X53-D592 on EX2300/EX3400; 16.1 versions prior to 16.1R7-S7; 17.1 versions prior to 17.1R2-S12, 17.1R3; 17.2 versions prior to 17.2R2-S7, 17.2R3; 17.2X75 versions prior to 17.2X75-D102, 17.2X75-D110, 17.2X75-D44; 17.3 versions prior to 17.3R2-S5, 17.3R3-S5; 17.4 versions prior to 17.4R1-S8, 17.4R2; 18.1 versions prior to 18.1R2-S4, 18.1R3; 18.2X75 versions prior to 18.2X75-D20.
On EX4300-MP Series devices with any lo0 filters applied, transit network traffic may reach the control plane via loopback interface (lo0). The device may fail to forward such traffic. This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS 18.2 versions prior to 18.2R1-S2, 18.2R2 on EX4300-MP Series. This issue does not affect any other EX series devices.
An Improper Neutralization of Special Elements vulnerability in the download manager of Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX Series and EX Series allows a locally authenticated attacker with low privileges to take full control over the device. One aspect of this vulnerability is that the attacker needs to be able to execute any of the "request ..." or "show system download ..." commands. This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX Series and EX Series: All versions prior to 19.2R1-S9, 19.2R3-S5; 19.3 versions prior to 19.3R3-S6; 19.4 versions prior to 19.4R3-S8; 20.1 versions prior to 20.1R3-S4; 20.2 versions prior to 20.2R3-S4; 20.3 versions prior to 20.3R3-S3; 20.4 versions prior to 20.4R3-S2, 20.4R3-S3; 21.1 versions prior to 21.1R3-S1; 21.2 versions prior to 21.2R2-S2, 21.2R3; 21.3 versions prior to 21.3R2, 21.3R3; 21.4 versions prior to 21.4R1-S1, 21.4R2.
An Improper Neutralization of Data within XPath Expressions ('XPath Injection') vulnerability in J-Web shipped with Juniper Networks Junos OS allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to execute remote commands on the target device.
While an administrator is logged into a J-Web session or has previously logged in and subsequently logged out of their J-Web session, the attacker can arbitrarily execute commands on the target device with the other user's credentials. In the worst case, the attacker will have full control over the device. This issue affects Junos OS:
All versions before 21.2R3-S8, from 21.4 before 21.4R3-S7, from 22.2 before 22.2R3-S4, from 22.3 before 22.3R3-S3, from 22.4 before 22.4R3-S2, from 23.2 before 23.2R2, from 23.4 before 23.4R1-S1, 23.4R2.
A Heap-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the flexible PIC concentrator (FPC) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX2300, EX3400, EX4100, EX4300, EX4300MP, EX4400, EX4600, EX4650-48Y, and QFX5k Series allows an attacker to send a specific DHCP packet to the device, leading to an FPC crash and restart, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). Continued receipt and processing of this packet will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition.
Under a rare timing scenario outside the attacker's control, memory corruption may be observed when DHCP Option 82 is enabled, leading to an FPC crash and affecting packet forwarding. Due to the nature of the heap-based overflow, exploitation of this vulnerability could also lead to remote code execution within the FPC, resulting in complete control of the vulnerable component. This issue affects Junos OS on EX2300, EX3400, EX4100, EX4300, EX4300MP, EX4400, EX4600, EX4650-48Y, and QFX5k Series:
All versions before 21.4R3-S9, from 22.2 before 22.2R3-S5, from 22.4 before 22.4R3-S5, from 23.2 before 23.2R2-S3, from 23.4 before 23.4R2-S3, from 24.2 before 24.2R2.
A Missing Authentication for Critical Function vulnerability combined with a Generation of Error Message Containing Sensitive Information vulnerability in J-Web of Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX Series and EX Series allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to access sensitive system information.
When a user logs in, a temporary file which contains the configuration of the device (as visible to that user) is created in the /cache folder. An unauthenticated attacker can then attempt to access such a file by sending a specific request to the device trying to guess the name of such a file. Successful exploitation will reveal configuration information.
This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX Series and EX Series: All versions earlier than 20.4R3-S9; 21.2 versions earlier than 21.2R3-S7; 21.3 versions earlier than 21.3R3-S5; 21.4 versions earlier than 21.4R3-S6; 22.1 versions earlier than 22.1R3-S5; 22.2 versions earlier than 22.2R3-S3; 22.3 versions earlier than 22.3R3-S2; 22.4 versions earlier than 22.4R3; 23.2 versions earlier than 23.2R1-S2, 23.2R2.
An uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS on QFX5000 Series and EX4600 Series switches allows an attacker sending large amounts of legitimate traffic destined to the device to cause Interchassis Control Protocol (ICCP) interruptions, leading to an unstable control connection between the Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation Group (MC-LAG) nodes which can in turn lead to traffic loss. Continued receipt of this amount of traffic will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition. An indication that the system could be impacted by this issue is the following log message: "DDOSPROTOCOLVIOLATIONSET: Warning: Host-bound traffic for protocol/exception LOCALNH:aggregate exceeded its allowed bandwidth at fpc <fpc number> for <n> times, started at <timestamp>" This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS on QFX5000 Series and EX4600 Series: 15.1 versions prior to 15.1R7-S9; 17.3 versions prior to 17.3R3-S11; 17.4 versions prior to 17.4R2-S13, 17.4R3-S5; 18.3 versions prior to 18.3R3-S5; 18.4 versions prior to 18.4R2-S8, 18.4R3-S7; 19.1 versions prior to 19.1R3-S5; 19.2 versions prior to 19.2R1-S6, 19.2R3-S2; 19.3 versions prior to 19.3R2-S6, 19.3R3-S2; 19.4 versions prior to 19.4R1-S4, 19.4R2-S4, 19.4R3-S2; 20.1 versions prior to 20.1R2-S2, 20.1R3; 20.2 versions prior to 20.2R2-S3, 20.2R3; 20.3 versions prior to 20.3R2; 20.4 versions prior to 20.4R1-S1, 20.4R2.

An Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in the packet forwarding engine (PFE) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX4k Series and QFX5k Series platforms allows an unauthenticated network-adjacent attacker flapping an interface to cause traffic between VXLAN Network Identifiers (VNIs) to drop, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS).
On all EX4k and QFX5k platforms, a link flap in an
EVPN-VXLAN configuration Link Aggregation Group (LAG) results in Inter-VNI traffic dropping when there are multiple load-balanced next-hop routes for the same destination.
This issue is only applicable to systems that support EVPN-VXLAN Virtual Port-Link Aggregation Groups (VPLAG), such as the QFX5110, QFX5120, QFX5200, EX4100, EX4300, EX4400, and EX4650.
Service can only be restored by restarting the affected FPC via the 'request chassis fpc restart slot <slot-number>' command.
This issue affects Junos OS
on EX4k and QFX5k Series:
all versions before 21.4R3-S12, all versions of 22.2 from 22.4 before 22.4R3-S8, from 23.2 before 23.2R2-S5, from 23.4 before 23.4R2-S5, from 24.2 before 24.2R2-S3, from 24.4 before 24.4R2.
An Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in the packet forwarding engine (pfe) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on specific EX and QFX Series devices allow an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a complete Denial of Service (DoS).
On EX4k, and QFX5k platforms configured as service-provider edge devices, if L2PT is enabled on the UNI and VSTP is enabled on NNI in VXLAN scenarios, receiving VSTP BPDUs on UNI leads to packet buffer allocation failures, resulting in the device to not pass traffic anymore until it is manually recovered with a restart. This issue affects Junos OS:
24.4 releases before 24.4R2, 25.2 releases before 25.2R1-S1, 25.2R2.
This issue does not affect Junos OS releases before 24.4R1.
An Incorrect Behavior Order in the routing engine (RE) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX4300 Series allows traffic intended to the device to reach the RE instead of being discarded when the discard term is set in loopback (lo0) interface. The intended function is that the lo0 firewall filter takes precedence over the revenue interface firewall filter.
This issue affects only IPv6 firewall filter.
This issue only affects the EX4300 switch. No other products or platforms are affected by this vulnerability.
This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS:
All versions before 20.4R3-S10, from 21.2 before 21.2R3-S7, from 21.4 before 21.4R3-S6.
An Incorrect Behavior Order vulnerability in the Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX4300 Series allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause an integrity impact to networks downstream of the vulnerable device.
When an output firewall filter is applied to an interface it doesn't recognize matching packets but permits any traffic. This issue affects Junos OS 21.4 releases from 21.4R1 earlier than 21.4R3-S6. This issue does not affect Junos OS releases earlier than 21.4R1.
An Incorrect Initialization of Resource vulnerability in the packet forwarding engine (pfe) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on specific EX Series and QFX Series device allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause an integrity impact to downstream networks.
When the same family inet or inet6 filter is applied on an IRB interface and on a physical interface as egress filter on EX4100, EX4400, EX4650 and QFX5120 devices, only one of the two filters will be applied, which can lead to traffic being sent out one of these interfaces which should have been blocked.
This issue affects Junos OS on EX Series and QFX Series: 23.4 version 23.4R2-S6, 24.2 version 24.2R2-S3.
No other Junos OS versions are affected.
On Juniper Networks EX and QFX Series, an authentication bypass vulnerability may allow a user connected to the console port to login as root without any password. This issue might only occur in certain scenarios: • At the first reboot after performing device factory reset using the command “request system zeroize”; or • A temporary moment during the first reboot after the software upgrade when the device configured in Virtual Chassis mode. This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX and QFX Series: 14.1X53 versions prior to 14.1X53-D53; 15.1 versions prior to 15.1R7-S4; 15.1X53 versions prior to 15.1X53-D593; 16.1 versions prior to 16.1R7-S4; 17.1 versions prior to 17.1R2-S11, 17.1R3-S1; 17.2 versions prior to 17.2R3-S3; 17.3 versions prior to 17.3R2-S5, 17.3R3-S6; 17.4 versions prior to 17.4R2-S9, 17.4R3; 18.1 versions prior to 18.1R3-S8; 18.2 versions prior to 18.2R2; 18.3 versions prior to 18.3R1-S7, 18.3R2. This issue does not affect Juniper Networks Junos OS 12.3.
An Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in the Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX4300 Series allows a locally authenticated attacker with low privileges to cause a Denial-of-Service (Dos).
If a specific CLI command is issued, a PFE crash will occur. This will cause traffic forwarding to be interrupted until the system self-recovers.
This issue affects Junos OS:
All versions before 20.4R3-S10,
21.2 versions before 21.2R3-S7,
21.4 versions before 21.4R3-S6.
A NULL Pointer Dereference vulnerability in the chassis daemon (chassisd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on MX, SRX and EX Series allows a local attacker with low privileges to cause a Denial-of-Service (DoS).
When a user executes the 'show chassis' command with specifically crafted options, chassisd will crash and restart. Due to this all components but the Routing Engine (RE) in the chassis are reinitialized, which leads to a complete service outage, which the system automatically recovers from.
This issue affects:
Junos OS on MX, SRX and EX Series, except MX10000 Series and MX304:
all versions before 22.4R3-S8, 23.2 versions before 23.2R2-S5, 23.4 versions before 23.4R2-S6, 24.2 versions before 24.2R2-S2, 24.4 versions before 24.4R2.
A Return of Pointer Value Outside of Expected Range vulnerability in the fileio library of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows a local, low-privilged attacker to cause a Denial-of-Service (DoS).
On EX Series, QFX Series and MX Series a low-privileged attacker issuing a specific 'show l2-learning' or 'show ethernet-switching' command will cause an l2ald crash which will lead to a temporary service impact for all layer 2 services until the process has automatically restarted.
This issue affects EX Series, QFX Series, MX Series: Junos OS:
all versions before 23.2R2-S7, 23.4 versions before 23.4R2-S7, 24.2 versions before 24.2R2, 24.4 versions before 24.4R1-S2.
Junos OS Evolved: all versions before 23.2R2-S7-EVO, 23.4 versions before 23.4R2-S8-EVO, 24.2 versions before 24.2R2-EVO, 24.4 versions before 24.4R1-S3-EVO.
When user-defined ARP Policer is configured and applied on one or more Aggregated Ethernet (AE) interface units, a Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition vulnerability between the Device Control Daemon (DCD) and firewall process (dfwd) daemons of Juniper Networks Junos OS allows an attacker to bypass the user-defined ARP Policer. In this particular case the User ARP policer is replaced with default ARP policer. To review the desired ARP Policers and actual state one can run the command "show interfaces <> extensive" and review the output. See further details below. An example output is: show interfaces extensive | match policer Policer: Input: defaultarppolicer <<< incorrect if user ARP Policer was applied on an AE interface and the default ARP Policer is displayed Policer: Input: jtac-arp-ae5.317-inet-arp <<< correct if user ARP Policer was applied on an AE interface For all platforms, except SRX Series: This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS: All versions 5.6R1 and all later versions prior to 18.4 versions prior to 18.4R2-S9, 18.4R3-S9 with the exception of 15.1 versions 15.1R7-S10 and later versions; 19.4 versions prior to 19.4R3-S3; 20.1 versions prior to 20.1R3; 20.2 versions prior to 20.2R3-S2; 20.3 version 20.3R1 and later versions; 20.4 versions prior to 20.4R3; 21.1 versions prior to 21.1R2; This issue does not affect Juniper Networks Junos OS versions prior to 5.6R1. On SRX Series this issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS: 18.4 versions prior to 18.4R2-S9, 18.4R3-S9; 19.4 versions prior to 19.4R3-S4; 20.1 versions prior to 20.1R3; 20.2 versions prior to 20.2R3-S2; 20.3 version 20.3R1 and later versions; 20.4 versions prior to 20.4R3; 21.1 versions prior to 21.1R2. This issue does not affect 18.4 versions prior to 18.4R1 on SRX Series. This issue does not affect Junos OS Evolved.
