This involves a unicode property matching issue in JIT-compiled regular expressions. The issue occurs because the character was not fully read in case-less matching within JIT.

A flaw was found in systemd. Attacker controlled alloca() in function unitnamepathescape() leads to a crash in systemd and ultimately a kernel panic. Systemd parses the content of /proc/self/mountinfo and each mountpoint is passed to mountsetupunit(), which calls unitnamepathescape() underneath to duplicate the string through alloca(). A local attacker who is able to mount a filesystem on a very long path can crash systemd and the whole system.

An issue was discovered in disableprivmode in shell.c in GNU Bash through 5.0 patch 11. By default, if Bash is run with its effective UID not equal to its real UID, it will drop privileges by setting its effective UID to its real UID. However, it does so incorrectly. On Linux and other systems that support "saved UID" functionality, the saved UID is not dropped. An attacker with command execution in the shell can use "enable -f" for runtime loading of a new builtin, which can be a shared object that calls setuid() and therefore regains privileges. However, binaries running with an effective UID of 0 are unaffected.

A malicious server can serve excessive amounts of Set-Cookie: headers in a HTTP response to curl and curl < 7.84.0 stores all of them. A sufficiently large amount of (big) cookies make subsequent HTTP requests to this, or other servers to which the cookies match, create requests that become larger than the threshold that curl uses internally to avoid sending crazy large requests (1048576 bytes) and instead returns an error.This denial state might remain for as long as the same cookies are kept, match and haven't expired. Due to cookie matching rules, a server on foo.example.com can set cookies that also would match for bar.example.com, making it it possible for a "sister server" to effectively cause a denial of service for a sibling site on the same second level domain using this method.
NTP is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an issue when relying on unauthenticated IPv4 time sources in ntpd. By predicting transmit timestamps for use in spoofed packets, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the daemon to crash or system time change.
A vulnerability was found in NTP. A security issue which enables an off-path attacker to prevent ntpd from synchronizing with NTP servers not using authentication. A server mode packet with spoofed source address sent to the client ntpd causes the next transmission to be rescheduled, even if the packet doesn't have a valid origin timestamp. If the packet is sent to the client frequently enough, it will stop polling the server and not be able to synchronize with it.

A malformed query response received by a recursive server in response to a query of RTYPE ANY could trigger an assertion failure while named is attempting to add the RRs in the query response to the cache. While the combination of properties which triggers the assertion should not occur in normal traffic, it is potentially possible for the assertion to be triggered deliberately by an attacker sending a specially-constructed answer having the required properties, after having engineered a scenario whereby an ANY query is sent to the recursive server for the target QNAME. A recursive server will itself only send a query of type ANY if it receives a client query of type ANY for a QNAME for which it has no RRsets at all in cache, otherwise it will respond to the client with the the RRsets that it has available.
This vulnerability occurs during the processing of an answer packet received in response to a query. As a result, recursive servers are at the greatest risk; authoritative servers are at risk only to the extent that they perform a limited set of queries.

An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 5.10.1, as used with Xen through 4.14.x. The Linux kernel PV block backend expects the kernel thread handler to reset ring->xenblkd to NULL when stopped. However, the handler may not have time to run if the frontend quickly toggles between the states connect and disconnect. As a consequence, the block backend may re-use a pointer after it was freed. A misbehaving guest can trigger a dom0 crash by continuously connecting / disconnecting a block frontend. Privilege escalation and information leaks cannot be ruled out. This only affects systems with a Linux blkback.
